So how did Ranardo pitch tonight? I had to mute when he was pitching because of this. There is no R in his name. This was terrible. Except of course the silent R right at the beginning... In all seriousness though, how hard is Ranaudo to announce, all night it sounded like Rey-nar-do.

Cecchini is in a nasty little slump right now. Let's see how he adjusts. He's gonna need to adjust fast if he's going to help the major league team this year.

Cecchini is in a nasty little slump right now. He's reached base safely in each of his last 10 games.

A very short period where a player is consistently reaching base at an excellent rate but either not making great contact or having bad luck or both is not a "nasty slump". Should be an obvious inference.

It says a lot that he's having that kind of success while not hitting very well. Yea I guess. I dunno. The OPS pretty much speaks for itself. That's in large part because he's mostly getting on base via the walk though (.372 OBP in that period, and four two walk games). I haven't seen any of the games, so this is pure speculation, but looking at the game logs it easy to think he may just not be getting anything to hit. Guys don't generally walk that much if they're really struggling at the plate do they? (serious question, I've never paid attention to it specifically so maybe they do, but logically I wouldn't think they would).

How did Xander do? I need Buttrey to complete the trifecta of promotions. With Owens,Ranaudo being the other 2. I personally believe Kukuk has progressed nicely from the beginning of the year. What a year. I think my five disappointments were WMB,Perkins, Barnes, Brentz, and actually shortstops in the system. I know Barnes has comeback lately. But this is how I feel. I know I am probably leaving out someone worse. Bogaerts and Iglesias? I would think the shortstops in question were Marrero and Vinicio. Also, isn't Perkins actually hitting pretty well in his second trip in Greenville?

I glad if Perkins is doing well for some reason I thought he was struggling. The SS have nothing to do with Xander. And you can throw in the Taiwanese kid with the other 2 .

Should be an obvious inference. 1 for his last 21 is indeed a nasty slump. He's also got a .355 obp during that time, which is of course good. One of the weirder lines I've seen. Gotta think some of that is luck-based.

1 for his last 21... luck-based ... a .355 obp during that time. I agree. He's been hitless for four games - it's a blip not even worth mentioning.
