Can't ask for any better out of the first 2 games. Now , silence the cow bells and get some rest for the next series.

Gotta love a 2-0 lead with maybe the best pitcher in baseball going next game for the Sox ...

If only they had a chance against Price...would have scored 50.

I'll ask my son to put the ticket in some kind of frame he keeps several in, that also has some I gave him from the infamous "Yankee massacre" series back in '78 when I was at Fenway for that brutal series.

I'm watching the Oakland/Detroit game. First, Don and Eck are much better announcers than whoever was in the booth for Sox-Rays. Second, Sonny Gray is nasty.

I hate to tooth my own horn, but around the time that draft came along I was PISSED that the A's drafted Gray ahead of the Sox. Instead, we ended up with Matt Barnes, which is nice and all. But Sonny Gray is a special pitcher. Where's the apocalyptic crowd? It seems as if, oh no what a huge surprise, the Red Sox are a better baseball team than Tampa.

No pitch hitter for Lobaton? Even Maddon is mailing it in right now. I am going to say it until more people realize the obvious: Maddon is a terrible baseball manager. I hope he gets fired so I don't ever have to watch his dumb face and don't ever have to take the Fangraphs people overrating him into oblivion.

Great game by the Sox. Crappy game by Price. Still wouldn't want to see the Sox face him in a deciding Game 5. Can't imagine he'd pitch this lousy again. Tony Mazz had a good point about his numbers in games following starts when throwing over 115 pitches and his numbers are pretty lousy in those situations. Perhaps that Texas complete game had an adverse affect on him after all.
Hopefully the Sox put the Rays away on Monday and knowing that the extremely mediocre Hellickson goes in Game 4 for Tampa does make me feel better. But it ain't over until it's over and I give the Sox credit for saying the right things as it doesn't seem like they're looking past Game 3 and they're showing confidence, but no arrogance.
Another amazing thing is that nobody on the Rays seems to have a clue how to play LF at Fenway. Their defense has been crappy all around, but I've never seen LF butchered so badly.

For anyone back there still awake, the home plate umpire in the Oakland,-Detroit game is just terrible. He has set up at least a half dozen hitters, calling strikes early in the count that were not. That has them reacting later in the count to pitches off the plate, naturally. Terrible way to do his business.

Or at the very least the technology that should either force HP umpires to adjust keep them from getting playoff games

Why athletes and media people continue to respond to moronic trolls on twitter baffles me read his timeline... No trolls... "you're going to see Papi in your sleep tonight" "why do you cry and complain about Papi when he took you yard" There's no reason for fans to send that stuff to athletes. But if they do, there is 0 reason to respond. That's obnoxious fan and trolling and usually makes the athlete look petty

It's a pretty mild rant. Price is just upset he took the loss tonight and his team is down 0-2. If you were in his shoes and idiot fans were trolling you on twitter, it'd take a lot of self-restraint to not say anything. Athletes get annoyed like the rest of us.

Buckner is nearly always erratic with his K zone. If the league is going to insist on having a HP umpire instead of using new technology to call B-K, then at least use the best umpires instead of favorites. I understand it is supposedly the best in inter league play, but imagine we will be seeing Joe West and Angel Hernandez shortly and they are certainly on any "best" list of umpires.

David Price ?@davidprice14 24s Dirk Hayhurst...COULDNT hack it...Tom Verducci wasn't even a water boy in high school...but yet they can still bash a player...SAVE IT NERDS
Price seems to be the only one who thinks Ortiz was showboating

Price should be annoyed with his performance and the idiots on Twitter. That's exactly the reason to not be on Twitter
Also, very few things annoy me more than athletes pulling the "well he didn't play past HS or in the majors card" when established writers and analysts make comments just because they don't agree with the players opinion
Edit: I was sitting just to the fair side of Pesky's pole tonight and I had no clue if it was fair until it just about reached the stand

That assclown was whining about Ortiz standing in the box too long, then he took his rant to Twitter. There's really no defending Price here.
Here's a better idea, David: don't give up 7 runs in a must-win game. Loser.
Then again, Maddon is about the whiniest bitch in all of sports, so it's no surprise his players take after him.

I have absolutely no respect for David Prince. May the Yankees sign him for 20 years, 2 bajillion dollars so at least he has to wipe out that disgusting attempt of a beard off his face.
