Forget the DFA. Mail his locker to his house.

I know a lot of people here hate NESN but If I had to listen to the cloying Yankee anouncers or Costas & Kaat on MLB I'd be muting every game.

Ellsbury showing his stuff. Some Sox fans showing that they are brainless.

I'm watching on YES and think it's way better than NESN.
No opinion on MLBN as I don't think I can get that.

Man, Tanaka is going to have to keep his fastball off the center of the plate to be effective. That thing is beeline straight.

The worst thing about YES is that they're homerish. But in terms of being informative and interesting, they're usually better than the Don and Jerry show. David Cone is pretty great in particular.
Pedroia seems to be heating up. That would be a huge boon.

Agreed on Cone, he is one of the best color men out there, along with Keith Hernandez and Orel Hershiser. Al Leiter is quite good as well, if he's still there.

Orsillo does fine with Eck. But Remy really drags him down.

Yeah, Orsillo is great when he's actually calling the game, but he spends large swaths of games bantering on absurdly off-topic tangents rather than paying attention to the action on the field.

Lester better get that off the plate strike that Tanaka got. Sure didn't in the first and it cost Lester a k - and led to a BB and 6 more pitches.

So I guess that stike is reserved for Tanaka.

That would have been a K with Ross or Vazquez.

That would have been a K with Ross or Vazquez. Not with the Cap'n batting it wouldn't.

The AJ signing has been an epic fail in all respects. It will soon be time to admit the mistake and DFA him.

Wow. Tanaka got those pitches to Jeter as strikes. Luckily Beltran grounded into a double play and Pedroia turned the DP excellently, but that was incredibly inconsistent umpiring through the first 2 innings.
On the bright side, Sizemore pedroia and Bogaerts have now each scorched an offering from Tanaka. Only one has dropped for a hit, but his fastball is certainly hittable.

It's good when opposing batters watch flyballs, something that should be encouraged and no reason to start a brawl.

Lester not looking particularly sharp with his command tonight. Doesn't always lead to a .727 BABIP though.

Lester not looking particularly sharp with his command tonight. Doesn't always lead to a .727 BABIP though. Not to bring this up again, but the contact Lester has given up so far was way harder than what Buchholz gave up yesterday, yet Lester isn't getting pillaged for it.
