Today (beginning at 1pm ET) is day 2 of the draft, comprised of rounds 3-10. The Red Sox will have eight picks.
If history is any indication, there will be 2-3 below-slot picks/senior signs and 2-3 below-the-radar picks in these rounds in order to create salary flexibility for post-10th round picks.
Have at it.

Early hopes for the 3rd round: Brian Anderson Jeren Kendall Keaton McKinney Dylan Davis Either Anderson or McKinney would be a steal at this point. I haven't done enough background on the other players.

I had nothing to do, so below is a list of where our day 1 pick are ranked:
Chavis:
MLB.com: #21 BA: #26 Kiley McDaniel: #18 Law: #28
Kopech:
MLB.com: #41 BA: #37 Kiley McDaniel: #31 Law: #40
Travis:
MLB.com: #63 BA: #56 Kiley McDaniel: #76 Law: #57
So all in all, seems to be pretty solid value.

Reetz seems interesting but I doubt he will drop. 2 way player who sits low 90's, so the arm at catcher would play. Ramos and Morgan sound like solid SS with at least some upside with the bat.

AJ Vanegas, Ben Wetzler and Dustin Demuth would be interesting senior signs.

I'm a South Carolina fan and some writers that cover them have linked Boston as a team that's been after Griener. (Grain of salt)
Also Tanner English would be a good day 2 pick. Great D, Speed and arm in CF. He toyed with switch hitting last year and went pretty good until an injury and id let him try again in the minors. Sliders away was half of his Ks this year and the first month of his Soph year he was SH and not having to deal with them. Anyway he's a college guy you could get today and has upside and with his D,speed and arm if he hits a little as he moves up he'd be a good 4th OF.

I heard he actually catches his own pitches.
There's a lot of interesting names still out there so I'm excited about the possibilities. This is where you build depth and try to form a well-rounded class. I'd also like to see some more risky picks, but that may be a lot to ask considering our Kopech is already leading our draft in risky business.

Let's go with a tooly guy, Milton Ramos. He's the quintessential good field, no hit SS.

This is correct....but not quite as impressive as it sounds. He only throws mid 80s but he is quick enough to flip the light switch and get in bed before it goes out.

I know I'm greedy but I really want one of those top high school arms remaining.

I feel like these draft ID numbers sound like prison numbers over the phone. Granted it's not the Oakland Raiders but to start with the number is interesting.

Amazing how the slotting system has changed. The draft is going as stock as could be. All of the signable BA top 50 are off the board.. Looks like 85/100 will be off the board by pick 100. A few years ago there would be a much wider range of selections.

Cederoth if signed by Minnesota will be a nice arm to add to their slowly building stock. I've loved their draft so far.

A few years ago there would be a much wider range of selections. This is exactly what the league was trying to accomplish with the rule changes and I completely understand why, but the draft was a heck of a lot more fun to follow before...
