So, how is Chavis as a pitcher? (too soon ) They need to make room first by putting Trey Ball at mascot.

Not a lot of good stuff to report yet. Ock and Chavis each o-fer in the first game with 2k's. Dedgar J also with a tough line in less than 4ip.
Devers 1/2 in game 2. Chavis 0/2 with a k.
Callahan got knocked around for Greenville, and the prospects haven't hit yet (top of the 9th). Devers 1/2 in game 2.

Red Sox acquire Ryan Verdugo from KC for cash.

Off topic a tad, but has their been any viable recent reassessment of Alex Hassan. He has been on tear since he went back. Just one of those things or were there some changes, other than experience or repetitions?

Just one of those things or were there some changes, other than experience or repetitions? We know that there was a negative change (in his stance, much busier with the bat pre-swing) from last year to this year. Whether they fixed that when he was in MLB I haven't heard, but he's been raking tremendously since he was sent back down.

Sam Travis does yardwork. Lowell leads 2-0.

In the all star games, nothing exciting for the Sox fans.
Layne clean inning pitched Scott one hit inning pitched Coyle 1-3 SB out of the game now Swihart 0/2 out of the game now
LOL, Eastern league all stars pit the Eastern Eastern team versus the Western Eastern team

Wouldn't it be super cool if Kendrick Perkins suddenly became a stud, and it was actually in time for us to protect him in the rule 5? What are the chances?
We don't want to lose him if he actually develops into a real slugger but he has taken a long time now. It seems like some recent progress though.
At what point is Danny Mars a prospect?

Curious as to why the EL all star game isn't on MiLB.TV. Played at Altoona which is one of the MiLB.TV cities. LOL, "Peoples Natural Gas Field". They must sell a lot of beans. IL game is in TV.

He'd have to be one hell of a stud to need to be protected from being in the majors from A ball. LOL but one of my favorite moments, here's a picture of MFY Heathcott sucker punching Christian Vazquez while he was still in the crouch back in his Greenville days. Kendrick made a B-line out of the dugout and totally beat the crap out of Heathcott who is also a big boy. One of the best baseball fights I've ever seen, Heathcott had no chance and it took the officials quite a while to get him off of Heathcott and Kendrick wasn't doing the usual girly baseball fight.

Greenville winning streak came to and end. Guzzman continues to shine in his new home, 2/4 with a double. He's up to .412 and 1.000+ OPS in his first 21 ABs. Callahan continues to pitch less than his talents.
Salem won, Heller with a 3/3 night after replacing Perkins who doubled then left the game a few innings later. Haley with another decent start, he's been doing well.
Lowell won behind Sam Travis who went 3/5 with a HR and double. Quevedo with 8K's and 0BB in 5 innings of relief, a far cry from previous outings.
GCL Sox swept. Jarez, Guerra, Speier with plus days . . . Can't believe I missed it but Gibson was the star of stars going 2-3 with a triple and HR as the starting SS. . . . Noe Ramirez didn't get into the game but was selected.

Likely for another team given the pending 40-man roster crunch. Keep him over Shaw? Coyle? Ramos? Lots of tough decisions pending the outcome of the trade deadline.

Lots of tough decisions pending the outcome of the trade deadline.Key point. There will also be players the Sox won't go to arbitration with, Carp, for example and there's also an annual flurry of minor trades just before the Rule 5 draft. 40 man is not generally a major issue. If the Sox have players they can't protect and they think they will lose them, they will trade them.
