I've heard mixed reports on how high Austin Wilson could have gone before injury. Any chance he drops enough with signability concerns the Red Sox see another JBJ with their 2nd pick?

The penalties (15%+ - 100% tax on overage and loss of 1st round picks in next two drafts) are too much, or I'd suggest that one year a team should go all out, and basically draft four first round quality 'tough signs' and throw the bank at them. For a good team, or one that signs free agents and loses 1st rounder anyway, I wonder if that's tempting at all, or too risky. Not to mention the roster implications four years down the road. I could see this in two scenarios potentially. One in which there is a Harper, Strasburg type prospect that is willing to stick to a high demand knowing at least one team will forfeit a future pick for them and meet those demands. Two could be a team in the Red Sox scenario where after having a surprisingly bad year and picking top 10 they currently sit with a top 5 record in baseball in which they would likely have a very late 1st round pick the next year. It is more likely also if the team expects to gain supplemental picks by having free agents with qualifying offers signed by other teams "replacing" the lost pick so to speak. However in a weak draft like this year I don't see a team doing so.

That 100% tax will be rough... even for a team as well off as the Red Sox. Gonna have to bring in some of the NASCAR money.

No, if anything, his stock is solidifying in the late teens and 20s. He, Aaron Judge and Phil Ervin will all go off the board in that area.

Matthew (St. Paul): Are the Twins a lock to take Kohl Stewart unless one of the college arms slip? Thanks!
Conor Glassey: No, I heard he was losing some favor in Minnesota. It sounds like they're considering a group of players (Ball, Shipley, Reese McGuire) - perhaps as a way to get Stewart to drop his price? We'll see. Lots of gamesmanship happening over the past 24 hours.

Could always trade up for one of the competitive balance picks if they want him and thinks he won't last to their spot in the 2nd.

MLB Network just compared Philip Ervin to Denard Span (I can kind of see it), Andrew McCutchen (both black?), and Mike Trout (reasoning is both will not be drafted in top half of first round). Suffice to say MLB Network might have the worst baseball coverage ever.

Any place to watch the draft live online? I don't think there is a legal place to watch it for free.
