Chris Young with the <2:1 SO/BB ratio and the more than 1 HR/9, and the ~800 OPS given up in road games?
I'm not exactly worried (well, any more so than any scrub pitcher going against the Sox) about that match-up. So, yeah, I'll take the over.

Gordon Edes ?@gordonedes 52s 8/22 vs. SEA: Nava 1B, Pedroia 2B, Ortiz DH, Cespedes LF, Craig RF, Middlebrooks 3B, Bogaerts SS, Betts CF, Vazquez C, Kelly RHP
No Holt, Nava leading off and playing 1B, Craig in RF (not sure why they didn't reverse Craig and Nava in the field).

Found myself wondering why we didn't see Craig in LF last evening, with Nava at 1B. Must be a desire to give Johnson some playing time, though he's the weakest option by quite a bit.

Nobody can be Pedro, not even King Felix!!! Have to say the jury is still out for me. Hernandez is truly amazing to watch, tremendous fun. But yes, Pedro is still the sun shining in the pitching sky - for now.

So, is anyone actually going to watch this? Patriots will surely put more hits on the Panthers than the Sox get against King Felix.

While the jury is still out on Felix, it may be awhile before it comes in as hardly anybody has seen him quite into pedro's taped up to the post in the dugout comedy... and the hundred other loosen up the team acts he came up with over the years!

But yes, Pedro is still the sun shining in the pitching sky - for now. Pedro had a 4 year stretch in which he posted a better WAR in each year then Felix has ever had, which includes Pedro's combined 20+ WAR in 99/00. Same premise whether using fangraphs or BR. Pedro also had a 9 year stretch with at least 5 WAR per season, which Felix could certainly come close to, and maybe pass given that he's "only" 28 Felix is amazing, and on an easy HOF path. Pedro was that much better than just about everyone else in an era dominated by bats. It's just unreal when you look at some of his numbers, now 10 years later. Just utter domination

Didn't intend for this to turn this into an actual discussion but since it has here is my take.. I think King Felix will probably have the better overall numbers at the end of his career. But Pedro's peak years will be hard to beat, I don't think we'll ever see a pitcher be that dominat over that kind of stretch, off the to of my head from 97-02. On a personal note I'll never forget as that is the reason I can say I turned into a baseball fan, they showed all his starts on national TV.

over/under 4 page series thread? Joe Kelly not giving much cause for us to bitch about him yet, so maybe under. Nava almost broke up the no-hitter just now. ...and then Pedroia actually did.

Is there a pitch Cespedes won't swing at? Uhm... he didn't swing at the first pitch in that plate appearance. (AJ would have swung at that one though.)

If Pedro pitched in a time of steroid testing and pitched in Seattle he would have had an era of under 1. He is the best pitcher I ever saw and it is not even close.
