Kopech line for 2 innings, 3 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 k's. not great, but Michael has pitched well as of late.

GCL Sox get swept, 3-0 in the second. Devers 2/3 with a double the only highlight.

By the dub I sent some rain towards the east coast, so I wouldn't be shocked to see A/A+ games shortened.

PawSox/ getting hammered. Escobar added to his ERA Escobar with 11 more hits allowed than Johnson Salem delayed start but Kukuk and Johnson with the same hits allowed. Stank & Drehoff dealing in close games

I'm not sure if any of the guys have seen him in Lowell. He's been putting up good numbers but this is the last line of his bio: "Limited margin for error due to lack of raw stuff."

Johnson just lost his no-no in the 6th off a down the line HR. Dogs up 4-1. HRs by Coyle, KDLC, Welch. Blair up to .300 and Almanzaralso with 2 hits.
The guy at Lowell that's interesting (to me) is McAvoy. His sinker must be damn good because everything hit is on the ground.
If Portland wins, it will be 8 in a row and their longest streak since 2008. They will also be the most games above .500 in franchise history. This has been the best "team" team all year long. Late rallies, 2 out runs, somebody always picking up the team, even after all the promotions. If that's the Sox future, we'll be sitting pretty. Up 6-1 7th.
Interesting, Miller with a HR as well. What's interesting is that it was opposite field and the announcers are saying 360'+. Dogs up 7-1. 8th.
Johnson done 7.0IP 1H 1R 1ER 2BB 10K 1HRA 1.83ERA. 93P/66S 10GO/2FO. Sorry Henry, looking like we have a different Eastern League Pitcher of the year.
Kurcz struck out the side in the 8th. What's interesting is that he's sitting 96-97 which is where he was pre TJ.
Of Johnson's 6 HRA this year, 5 were solos. Since only 1/9 of Owens HRA were solos, it's likely the lions share of difference in their season ERAs.

Cecchini with a double... his August numbers still look good, and the K/BB numbers more in line with a good month.
Also nice to see Johnson with a great start yet again. Looking at his stats, his hit numbers are actually up this year, but he's limiting walks much better.

Portland won 7-1. 15Ks vs 1 hit.
Kukuk out after 3IP, unknown why, maybe pitch count but his 3rd inning doesn't look stressful in the log. 3.0IP 1H 0R 0ER 4BB 6K 0HRA. (WP 3rd inning). 0-0 4th.
PawSox butts kicked 15-2.
Listening to game wrap, all 4 Portland HRs were bombs. Miller, Coyle, KDLC, Welch.
Drive won. Decent game by Stankeiwicz. Roberson with his 8th HR.
Lowell won 3-2 on yet another walk-off. I think 5th in their last 7 games at home.

I'm not sure if any of the guys have seen [Drehoff] in Lowell. He's been putting up good numbers but this is the last line of his bio: "Limited margin for error due to lack of raw stuff." In 8 starts through July 23, Drehoff had a 5.71 ERA over 34.2 IP, and the 168 batters he faced racked up a .333/.413/.497/.910 line. He must have started eating his spinach, because in his 5 starts since then he's got a 1.61 ERA over 28 IP and a .222/.280/.303/.583 line vs 108 batters.

Another interesting note from the Spinners game:
Catcher Alex McKeon, just up from GCL this week, pitched a scoreless 8th inning tonight in relief of Drehoff with 2 H and 2 K. He never pitched for Texas A&M International over the past two seasons, but he did pitch in one game for Northeastern in 2012 (1 scoreless IP, 2 BB). No idea about his high school years.
I'm really curious what prompted this appearance considering the starter made it through 7 innings, the game wasn't a blowout, and there were plenty of rested arms in the Lowell bullpen.

I keep thinking Portland will tail off with all the talent that's been promoted, but they just keep winning. Good on ya boys.

I'm no scout by any means, but I saw Drehoff's start last Saturday at Hudson Valley and was not impressed. I don't think I saw anything over 85. There was nothing that made me think, "here's a guy to keep an eye on". Obviously I root for all these kids to succeed, but that's just my honest opinion.

That being said, he did settle in and stuck around for 5 after a rough first inning.

Salem Red Sox ?@salemredsox 40m Long night ends with no conclusion. Salem and Wilmington suspended with the Rocks up 4-2 in the 6th. Game will resume at 2:05 on Sunday.
Salem Red Sox ?@salemredsox 40m Who's in better shape? The Rocks, who are up 4-2? Or the Sox, who have the bases loaded with nobody up and the heart of the order due?
Salem Red Sox ?@salemredsox 40m We'll find out the answer to that cliffhanger, weather permitting, in about 14 hours.
LOL "nobody up and the heart of the order due." Doesn't say much for the heart of the order.

What prompted it was an Aberdeen scorekeeper who screwed up and put in McKeon instead of Kuehl McEachern. C'mon mabrowndog, you're better than that!
