Nice inning for Escobar, got his Fastball up to 94 with great location and command. His Changeup looked good also.

Just an observation from being down at a couple of the games this week in Toronto. WMB certainly was good with the glove and I see why they would want to give him every opportunity to get things going with the bat...he made some nice plays in the field over the series.
From a 'bat' perspective, if he's 1 and 2 in the count it's over. He looks completely baffled at that point and seems defenseless at the plate....however, his best rips (and there were not many) came on 2-1 counts or 1-1- counts (makes sense from any batters perspective) but he's in a much better frame of mind on those counts. I was down with a client who had been a scout for the Jays (he remembers WMB's three bomb game back in April 2013) and he thinks he's fixable. His comments were the same as many on this board, you don't often have a player with the power potential of WMB (25-30 bombs) and a solid glove at the corner, but he also mentioned that it's a problem that has to dealt with now at the big league level and not back in Triple A

Just to be clear OBP = Life. I'm more enamored with slugging pct. Especially, for 4-6 in the order. Because someone has to drive those slow, white guys who don't run the bases well in. But, to each his own. You might be on to something. If you plot all the key team offensive stats vs. runs scored across baseball the strongest correlation with an R2 value of 0.803 is wOBA. In second with a 0.7382 R2 is SLG. At third with 0.6696 is wRC+. In fourth at 0.6437 is Fangraphs' Off stat. And bringing up the rear, in order, are: AVG, OBP and ISO.

Not sure this is accurate. Doesn't the term "tanking" suggest that the team is actually capable of winning?
