Putting this here because it's not thread starter material. Why is Mike Miller not ranked even in the top 60 here? He's progressed up the ladder to AA where he's batting .324 with an .843 OPS. Last year, in only 15 games at Salem he hit .356 with a .941 OPS. Plays the right side of the infield. Just curious there seems little mention of him here.

Putting this here because it's not thread starter material. Well this is definitely the wrong place for it. You want the ranking update thread in the meta forum.

Without discussing ranking (since that's a meta forum topic) I can say that Miller hasn't been on my radar at all until 60 seconds ago. He has always been old for his level, and has been bounced around to multiple positions, both of which tell me the Sox feel there is limited upside (as does his $5k bonus). For the last 17 games at AA, he is finally at a level approaching appropriate age competition. If he can continue like he has in his first 68 ABs in the EL, then he'll probably pop onto some (low level) watch lists, but that's a big if, especially given the lack of even fringe power (.074 career milb iso) he has displayed prior to the last couple of weeks. Without the ability to impact the baseball, his patience will quickly be exploited. Now, he was injured last year, and I suppose one could argue that a) sapped his power, and b) means the strides he's making in his first full season should be noticed. But he's going to have to show more before he even becomes "potentially intriguing" to me. Continued power and maintaining discipline over the remainder of the season would certainly get him noticed, but he could just as easily fade a bit and we would forget his name again. If there's anything there, he'll probably get some buzz at instructs as well, and we'll have a real read for the off-season.

He'll turn 25YO less than a month after the season ends, he's been able to play 81 games in the last two seasons (with a change to play another 10-15, depending on how far Portland goes in the playoffs) and he profiles at best as a utility player. www.pressherald.com/2014/08/24/491092/

Cue Eric Van comparing him to Mike Trout.
