Like what i have seen from Pedroia recently, especially in the series against the Blue Jays. Lets hope Dustin finishes strong and gets healthy for our championship run in 2015!

Over/under on the number of walks in the Webster and Odorizzi duel? I'm going to put it at 1 billion.
Oh, and on an unrelated note, on a season such as this one we should be excited for stuff we wouldn't be otherwise. I hope you guys enjoy watching Alex Cobb pitching as much as I do. There ain't many pitches better in the MLB right now than his splitter/change.

Unfortunately he's got 13 Ks in those same starts, which is not the ratio you're looking for. But hey, he's only been a pitcher for seven years, he'll figure out any decade now.

So that was the problem with Petey this season ? He was playing hurt. He clearly had no power this season. Basically was regulated to a singles hitter. Now lately much better. This season just was out of sync for the team.
I just get tired of the season all year all these expert reporters keep blaming the young kids. I believe Ben was bold in trusting Jackie and Xander to a lesser degree WMB. If these veterans started off better maybe the young kids would of clicked better. But don't get me wrong they still bear responsibility. Victorino was a sad story this year.

But hey, he's only been a pitcher for seven years, he'll figure out any decade now. That does seem to have been the tradeoff. Moreover, he's been on-and-off with that heavy sinker, with a lot more balls being hit in the air. If he did swap some control for the tail on that pitch, that isn't much of a win for him.

He hasn't been close to the hitter he was last year. There isn't any position where the performance wasn't considerably down from last year except DH, and while the power has been there, Ortiz's BA is down from last year, also. I think both last year and this year can be seen as "fluke" years, when a lot happened, good in 2013, bad in 2014, that exceeded normal variation by substantial margins.

He's still one of the better hitters in the game while playing good defense at first. Seems like because of the team's bad year overall, he's been a little underrated lately.

Hopefully Ranaudo will remember what he said he has learned in his MLB games, that he needs to trust his stuff and not get behind in counts by trying to nibble too much.

Oh Mookie, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways; I love thy quick hands, I love thy speed, I love thy attitude and teachability.

This is proof, if any was needed, that, as Mark Twain said, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics. You can't persuade me that Napoli this year is as good as he was last year. It defies common sense.

Please don't trade Mookie or the two catchers. Try Mookie on the left side, or hold him at AAA next year and see what happens.
The Sox sent Holt down at the beginning of the year because they didn't think the D was good enough at SS. His SS D is better than Xander. Mookie has shown a decent arm in the out field. I'd at least like to see him fail at 3b or SS before they move him.

Scott Lauber ?@scottlauber 9m Betts, 21, is youngest #RedSox player to hit grand slam since 20-year-old Tony C on 8/24/65

I was looking at Tony C's numbers yesterday. Damn you forget how good he was and he was 19 when he started. I like Mookies swing the best of all the kids. Of them all he is the one I really want them to keep.

Glad were kicking the **** out of Archer and the Rays. Archers antics on the mound piss me off. Especially when he showed up Nava. That doesn't fly with us, go sox!!!

Would have loved to see that ball get over the wall... And then see Ortiz take about seven minutes rounding the bases.

I swear to this day it sounded like the crack of the bat. Still makes me sick.
