Never one to refrain from stating the obvious but it would have been interesting to see how both Portland and Pawtucket would have faired with the rotations they would have had if not for the fire sale at the MLB level this year.

The PawSox should be OK, we have the dreaded one-two of Eduardo Rodriguez and TBD.

1-0 Sox after 3. Rodriguez is dealing - 6 K's so far - but his pitch count is getting up there. Probably not going to go more than 6 tonight.

1-0 Sox after 3. Rodriguez is dealing - 6 K's so far - but his pitch count is getting up there. Probably not going to go more than 6 tonight. Back to back low pitch 1-2-3 innings. 91 pitches thru 6 so likely to come out for the 7th. FB still sitting 95 and he doesn't have many innings this year (about 130 vs 140 last year). I think him and Barnes are the only 'fresh' starters near the top. Sox down 2-1 after 6. ERod with 104 pitches thru 7. Hinojosa likely coming in for the 8th. PawSox still down 2-1. Sox coming up for the 9th down by one. Hassan, Cecchini, Swihart due up. Once again tying run 90 feet awaywith 2 outs. Castillo at bat. Tie game, 1-2 FB bullet hit to right center. 2-2 bottom of the ninth. Up until that inning, the Bull's pen has been outstanding. Shaw hasn't seen a righty reliever the whole series. Trivia tidbit. The term 'bullpen' came from Bull Durham cigarettes. A long time ago they advertised with billboards in the bullpens.

Oh hell yes. Castillo with the clutch single to tie the game in bottom of the ninth on a 1-2 pitch with 2 outs (was 0-2).

Castillo single scores Gibson. We're not quite done yet.

Had no idea that Hinojosa throws like 97-98 now. He looks like a MLB pitcher.

Lavarnway has had a good cup series. 7 for 17 I think with a couple of walks.

Sitting right next to the on-deck circle, it was really cool how many of the guys seemed to want to talk to the fans in AAA. I had a lot of cool conversations with most of them.
I was talking to Corey Brown last night and he almost missed getting out to the plate to signal whether to slide or not. And I will say that Lavarnway had an amazing slide to score last night, even though I thought he was out because I heard the tag getting made.

Bulls must be out of lefties, Shaw and Brown faced a righty but still tied, middle of the 10th.

Had no idea that Hinojosa throws like 97-98 now. He looks like a MLB pitcher. Did the stadium gun have Rodriguez around 95 with the FB ? I didn't happen to look at Hinojosa's MPH numbers which are shown on the TV for Durham. (I need to be in full screen mode to read them). 97-98 would be the fastest I have ever seen for Hinojosa.

Just relying on what I'm hearing on tv. Really wish I was there at this point.

If we want to stay alliterative, we can nickname Heath Hembree "Heart Hazard." SB, 1B, 1B, PU is not the textbook way to pitch out of a jam with 1 out and a man on 1st.

omfg, what a tag to save the championship by Swihart. Then he followed that up with a great block of a dirt pitch with a runner on third. Heart attack inning by Hembree (meatball city) but we're on to the 11th.

Don't understand not PR for Lavarnway at 2nd in the 12th with one out. I don't know who's left. Hassan started the game, Gibson PR after Hassan's 4th walk then Corey Brown replaced him. Bulls having heart attack innings of their own. Valdez in relief now. Nice play by Cecchini on a chopper for the first out. Ivan De Jesus with a 2R HR, PawSox up 4-2. First thing he's done since he came to the PawSox.

DeJesus with the 2-run bomb.
I wasn't going to say it previously, but this game was shaping up as the classic, we-should-have-been champs loss for the Bulls. One out away, and Rusney ties it; and then the Cup-winning run gets thrown out at the plate.
