I am really hoping Whitson regains his form and excels for us next year. He was really good at Florida when he had command.

Cosart, Kopech and Whitson are the young guns of the long distance future right now after the apparent flameout of Light, Buttrey, Kukuk and Callahan all at once. Sox needed a new corp to replace them and hopefully at least 2 can take significant step forward, as well as one from the "flamer" brigade decide to make an effort to succeed once again in 2015 and take steps forward.

I can not figure out why Callahan was so pitiful this year. Clearly he has ability, but struggles with command and a flat ball.
I am hoping he figures it out.

McAvoy and Beeks aren't too shabby either. Lot's to like about last year's draft plus the two big IFA's.

Kiley McDaniel ?@kileymcd Another velo bump in today's scout calls: Red Sox RHP Luis Diaz was 90-94 early in 2014, up a tick late in the season & 98-100 in instructs.

Kiley McDaniel ?@kileymcd 1 min.1 minuut geleden Correction: Luis Diaz is still 90-94. Meant to say Jason Garcia: he was 91-95, then had TJ, then hit 97 late in 2014, then 100 in instructs. Welp, still interesting though.

It does corroborate BA's report that Garcia had hit 100, though.

Pena likely will be gone this off season. With Denny they may have 1 million in him but he may have to pay some of that back to the organization for his off field problems. I'm not so sure the Sox are in a legal position to do that if they chose to. His off field antics have little to do his baseball activities. I remember there was some discussion about that with Austin Bailey but that was a different situation, he was refusing to do baseball related activities like workouts etc. He was directly violating the intent of the contract and as far as I know, they never did that with him. Right recouping a bonus ia very difficult unless the kid flat out quits

By the way, the guy who is going to get his name misspelled the most by Ian before editing: Enmanuel De Jesus, FTFY (including the space in his last name, which, frankly, may or may not even be there) (Love you, Ian)
