Is he? I'd rather have a robber in my bullpen than a rapist (hello, Tampa Bay).

I guess his fastball wasn't the only thing he couldn't control.

MLB nor the Red Sox will have to do anything. He's going away for a while, if guilty, essentially ending his career.
It's shame really. I was really excited when they drafted him.

It's sad to see some of these kids waste incredible talent and opportunities.

There saying home invasion. That's life here in Mass. That's robbing when someone is home.

Time to release him, no need for that here. This is not the Cincinnati Bengals.

Symbolic, but perhaps this site needs a mid-week ratings update to reflect that his chances of impacting the major league Sox has dropped out of the top 60?

I hope the kid gets some help. I agree. What a freaking waste. I never understand this kind of thinking. It is one thing, if you have no future to hold on too.

We probably shouldn't speculate but I HAVE to believe that this and the DUI are symptoms of a larger issue (and "thinking" has little to do with it). Hopefully, that gets resolved.

Larger issues like he's a degenerate? Some times people are just bad people and sometimes people have mental illnesses and sometimes people just make bad choices. Sometimes people who are bad people become good people.
None of it matters in this forum and it shouldn't matter too much to the Red Sox other than to figure out what they may have missed with him.
I don't really care what happens to him, but I hope he doesn't hurt anyone else along the way. This is the second incident where he's put other people's lives at risk and that just can't continue.

Agreed that this a learning opportunity to address whatever kind of character analysis is done prior to drafting and signing players. Something very serious was missed in this case. I'm wondering if Kukuk has some kind of psychiatric issue like bipolarity. Bipolars frequently self medicate with drugs and/or alcohol, which inevitably turns into addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, which in turn results in things like DUIs and criminal behavior to pay for their drug addictions.
It's also possible that he just has a bunch of jackass "friends" from wherever he spends the offseason and he's not mature enough to say no.

I think the Sox should wait until his case is adjudicated, but even if he manages to avoid a protracted jail sentence, the Red Sox have to cut him. You can't have someone in the organization who involves themselves with something like this whatever the reason. The only way I can see this playing out positively is if it turns out that he never entered the apartment and had no idea what his friends were really up to. If he entered the apartment or ever touched a gun, he's done as far as I am concerned.
