#RedSox have agreement in principle for #DBacks’ Miley, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. AZ will get Webster, De La Rosa and a minor leaguer.

Jon Morosi ?@jonmorosi 6m6 minutes ago On #RedSox - #DBacks trade agreement, remember that #DBacks senior VP De Jon Watson had De La Rosa and Webster as #Dodgers prospects.

Seeing on the MLB Network that a deal has been made for Miley. Webster, De La Rosa and a minor leaguer.

I like if it actually true this time. Webster has never shown that he can control his pitches and Rubby seems destined for the pen.
Not a home run deal, but I don't have much of an issue with it.

Webster wasn't really near contributing for the sox but isn't RLDR already relatively close to what Miley is now?

Wooho! He was .8 WAR last year and is 5.6 WAR (bRef) in three years. I hope Rubby isn't in the trade. This guy isn't good enough to give up both Webster and Rubby, both of whom could be 2 WAR pitchers.

Webster I don't really care about, but RDLR seemed pretty close to Miley... Not to be a prospects homer. I think Miley is a solid get, and we all know what happened when we relied too much on young talent last season. Just hope the additional minor leaguer isn't anyone significant.

Would have liked to keep De La Rosa for his upside as at worst a late inning reliever.

DLR could be better than this guy next year, don't mind Webster moving but I hate this.

I wouldn't of traded dlr for Miley alone.

I don't like this. De La Rosa is going to be a good starter.

Rosenthal: Agreement is in place, not official yet. Maybe Ben will sober up just in time to flush this trade idea like the turd that it is.

Clears at least one, possibly 2 40 man roster spots.

disappointing for sure. Lets hope that the last "minor leaguer" is someone completely irrelevant. I remember how excited I was when Webster and De La Rosa entered the system. Granted they haven't panned out as I had envisioned but I wasn't ready to give up on them and feel that they're being sold while their value is collectively low.

I don't know anything about Miley, but he's an inning eater. They nerd that and DLR and Webster were not that. With Sox bats, Miley will get win. Think Baltimore and Chen. And more importantly, we keep real prospects. Plus, not taking on money we can bid for Moncada or the other Cuban.

I must be missing something, can someone explain to me why people are freaking out over Rubby?
After his decent first 5 starts with the Red Sox last year, Rubby was pretty terrible. He showed little more than ever becoming much better than a 5th starter and looked very much like a power bullpen arm ala Andrew Miller. I have to be missing something.

I really like Rubby. Someone talk me off the ledge. Agreed. I feel like Rubby still has #3 upside or late-inning, possible closer potential. Miley has not chance of being better than a 5 in the AL. On the surface, this is gross. But I guess there must be something to Miley if they like him that much.

isn't RLDR already relatively close to what Miley is now? If by "close" you mean "there's a 20% chance he's as good as Miley", then yes. Miley has almost 4 times as many major league innings under his belt as RDLR, and with better results. Much more proven, lower variance commodity.

I really like Rubby. Someone talk me off the ledge. With Rubby's frame and injury history it is unclear if he would be a big league starter capable of giving you even 175 innings. Now we get a proven commodity who pitches well away from Arizona, logs major innings, and is under team control until 2018.
