What a great job putting together these newly formatted and updated reports!! Kudos!!
One question: Some of the vital stats are obviously dated from what we have heard anywhere from days to months ago. (e.g., the weights for Swihart and Owens). What are the criteria for updating these -- does there have to be some formal measurement standard, rather than a player self-report or media report?

Teams don't update the stats (the spring training roster that just was sent to media and still has Betts at 155 lbs, for example), and we don't roll into camp with a scale or measuring tape. Case by case if we hear elsewhere.

These are awesome! Thanks to Chris, Chris and of course Chris (as well as Matt) Just to clarify, the News Page story lays out who is working on these. Our scouting department is Ian Cundall and Chaz Fiorino. I am doing some editing but that's mainly it. And a bunch of staff members chipped in with data collection. Chris Mellen hasn't contributed to the site for a few years now. We love him and he's doing great stuff at BP. But I just want to make sure credit is going where it should be, and that's Ian and Chaz who are writing this stuff. I have no idea who the third Chris would be that you're referring to.

That was just a joke on the Chrises (Hatfield and the now moved-on Mellen). I was also accounting for a Chris-yet-to-be-named. Seriously though, great job by all involved! Already read through several.

Love the new scouting reports. Thought this was interesting for a system that just had Bogaerts and Betts speed through it regarding Devers (I know I'm taking it wrong):

Thought this was interesting for a system that just had Bogaerts and Betts speed through it regarding Devers (I know I'm taking it wrong): To make clear, when comparing to Bogaerts, Betts, etc. at the same age/level, it's not even close. Bogaerts was a fringe top 10 prospect after his age 17 season in the DSL and Betts was still in HS at 17. Best recent comparison would be Michael Almanzar maybe, although Devers is still ahead of him. The only comparison I can think of is Hanley, as dangerous a comparison that is to make.

Really good stuff. You guys did a great job of adding not just information, but meaningful stuff not just fillers. It seems as if someone who's never seen the site were to come on and start poking around theyd have thought they stumbled onto something they should have paid for. I may have missed it, it might have been mentioned before (I csnt find it), but I'm unable to look at around 7 of the new scouting reports in the top 20. I want to make it clear I'm not complaining, the new format is so good I JUST WANT TO READ EVERYTHING!

Like I mentioned on the News Page, you may need to refresh the pages in your browser.

Great stuff on the scouting report. My only request would be to lighten the gray behind the black text. Old eyes just aren't what they used to be and it is hard to read. Love the content and everything else so it is a small complaint.

Love the content and everything else so it is a small complaint. Well, I'll offer a couple suggestions, given that we're unlikely to change the format at this time: If you use a mouse with a clickwheel on it, if you hold the Ctrl key while looking at a page, moving the clickwheel will zoom in or out. Similarly, while holding Ctrl, the "-" key and the "=" key (the latter is the one with the "+" sign if you hold shift) will similarly zoom in or out. Hopefully those will help. I do understand that the font can be a bit small on those.

This stuff really is great, and what makes it better is so much of it matches what I've(we've) seen in Salem and Pawtucket, or wherever. Even up to physical description, body type/build (apart from the weight sometimes), and even demeanor.
It's obvious whoever took the original notes was there to see these guys in person. IE, Cosart does have a very unique 3/4 jab and sling type thing going. Great work guys. Makes me look like I'm working so hard at the computer, clicklickclickclick.

Thank you very much for that suggestion Chris didn't think of it. Will try it.

Great stuff guys. This site just keeps getting better and better. I honestly might have convolutions if this site wasn't here. Again thanks for such a fine job!
