Right. It's about how much money Jeff Loria can pocket between gate receipts and revenue sharing.

Mets have a new 3B platoon there. although neither player is an obviously platoon type with obvious splits.
Mets still need De Aza and Victorino.

of course A-rod is having a career like year I admit to not only thinking he wouldn't be much help this year, I thought he'd be a minus for the Yanks. Yikes.

Having watched him play over the prior 4 seasons (before his suspension) and while he was juicing ...the difference b/t then and now is startling. It does make one wonder...

Have we all forgotten how good he was when healthy? Steroids or not, he has always been a monster at the plate with great plate discipline and top-tier power. He was going through serious hip issues before his suspension that sapped him of his bat speed, but he just got two years off to rehabilitate that injury (and probably picked up a chip on his shoulder along the way). He knew he would be one of the most scrutinized players in the league, and I don't think even he has the arrogance to be juicing during this comeback.

The year off the Yankees and MLB colluded to make him take off is definitely the biggest thing helping him right now. Most players don't get 18 months to let their body heal and to work out and not deal with the rigors of travel and everything.

Former Red Sox Danny Valencia DFA'd by TOR. He'd be a good pickup for BOS. Arb2 this winter. RHH corner IF/OF.

Iggy has been batting 2nd for Det, for the last week or so. I know this says something about the Det. line up , but it also says something for a guy many here thought couldn't hit 250 in the bigs.

This is freaking hilarious. Now if THAT frame had been called a strike, THEN I would buy the whole thing of pitch framing being worth 10 wins a season...

Ooh, can you move that post to the pitch framing thread? That's AJP if anyone didn't realize it.

A week after getting Rob Kaminsky for Brandon Moss, the Indians got out from under Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher by taking on Chris Johnson and not giving up an of their young pitching? That is just a masterful run.
A part of me is a little amazed that this happened, but mostly I'm just happy that Nick Swisher still doesn't play for my favorite baseball team.

With the money going to Atlanta it's basically 2 years of Chris Johnson for 1 year of swisher and 1 year of Bourne. Money washes.

But you are failing to consider that Nick Swisher is worth ($Allthemoney).

For as interesting as Daniel Norris appeared to be in the ESPN mag article earlier this year....he comes across as considerably less interesting in this MLBtraderumors podcast....
