Saw a PeteAbe tweet earlier. Phillies scouts are at the A level game.
Johnson's done after 66 pitches, 5Ks against the Marlins 'A' lineup. Nice outing. Hinojosa in with 2 outs in the 4th.

Play-by-play guys had a complete bio on Johnson: Eastern league, International playoffs, all the family members... sigh.

Are there any milb spring training boxscores anywhere? I don't see it on milb.com.

I think Castillo and Bradley switched positions.
LOL and Salty threw out Bradley trying to steal. No TV so I don't know if Jackie fell down.
Barnes and Owens with 1-2-3's. Barnes gave up a hard liner and Owens 3 flyouts.

I'm pretty excited for Brian Johnson in AAA this year. I feel like he is almost a forgotten man because scouting reports speak of him as a back end starter and he's surrounded by a pretty talented rotation. He's a lefthander with a fastball in the low 90's, 3 other averagish pitches, and has good command and posture on the mound.

FWIW Barnes also had a K.

I sincerely doubt they even keep score. They're glorified scrimmages.

Owens getting smoked and Bradley and Castillo did swap positions earlier.
Interesting, Marlins have a brother combo playing, the Solano brothers.
Eveland also got smoked. Marlins with an 8 run 8th.

As we stand, Owens 1.1 innings 4 hits 5 runs, all five earned, 1 walk and no strikeouts. One of the outs was a deep liner to center that Bradley made a nice catch on.

Michael Silverman ?@mikesilvermanbb 8m8 minutes ago Owens got hammered here in 8th: 5 runs allowed. Fair to say he's 3rd in LH SP depth chart behind Johnson and Rodriguez based on spring.

Owens gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk. That's not a good LOB%.

Lets start him and change his swing if he strikes out against a former Cy Young winner

Owens gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk. That's not a good LOB%. It's because the Marlins are known to be a good RISP BABIP team. That needs to be factored into spring training analysis.

Fair to say the rest of his life has been determined, based on spring. I think he has a good point about Johnson though. The start over Owens and Barnes, although it may be nothing, could indicate that this is what the Red Sox are thinking. If it is, then the performance wouldn't cause them to change their minds. He may not have the upside of the other two - but we can always dream he's the next Buehrle... But seriously - I wonder if he is now #6 or #7 on the depth chart.
