...no doubt whatsoever that Zimmerman withered right before our eyes. He looked off, and his velo was down a few mph. Let's hope Strasburg is as off tonight. I'd like to get a few more lefties in there tonight. Nava in RF. Maybe, give Pedey his first day off and get the Brock Star in there.

If Nap is still struggling maybe put in Craig at 1b? He is familiar with this NL team. Maybe it's better he just figures it out. I don't know if Craig has good numbers vs Strasburg or even Gio tomm.
I can't believe Pablo is a switch hitter ,the way he looks batting righty. I came to the conclusion every switch hitter is gonna favor one side but this is ridiculous. At least he is stronger on the left side. One more thing I am happy for Nava . I wanted them to give him away and I think if this guy and Holt are great weapons if not overused. No manager has a bench like this. I pray that one or two of these kids in AAA pan out for pitching. I want them to produce just one legitimate number two or a very good three. I will never use one.
It feels so good to keep the gloom and doom guys shut down. Maze hates the extension Porcello got. He was all over Xman also. One more thing the Ace also.this guy lost his baseball credibility for ratings. I know you guys hate him but I listen to the radio a lot.

Napoli is only struggling with luck. His K-rate is actually way down and walk rate way up. It's just the BABIP where he's struggling.

Jimed I am rooting for him I was thinking maybe playing the NL team maybe Craig can be useful. I want him to kick ass I want to make that clear. You know if he was Xman he would give him a day off. Farrell gives veterans more leeway in my opinion.

Well if you believe in small samples like Napoli's start then you don't want Craig facing Stasburg: Allen Craig (12): .083/.083/.083, 6 strikeouts I would let Nap grip it and rip it.

Got Nava and Holt in there. Surprised, Xander is the one sitting for Holt
Betts CF, Pedroia 2B, Ortiz DH, Ramirez LF, Sandoval 3B, Napoli 1B, Nava RF, Hanigan C, Holt SS, Masterson RHP.

I know there are probably reasons, scheduled day off, blah blah blah, but Xander es en fuego. So let's sit him.

I know there are probably reasons, scheduled day off, blah blah blah, but Xander es en fuego. So let's sit him. This might be one of those reasons: Bogaerts 71.0 IP Sandoval 70.0 IP Pedroia 69.0 IP Betts 62.0 IP Ramirez 61.0 IP ... Anyway, I for one look forward to Holt hopefully keeping up his .714 BABIP.

I'm kind of disappointed that Bogaerts isn't playing today. i wanted to see if he could keep his hot bat going.

I'm kind of disappointed that Bogaerts isn't playing today. i wanted to see if he could keep his hot bat going. I think Farrell is a good manager chemistry wise, but he makes some very questionable choices nearly every night. He's seemingly convinced Breslow and Ross are lefty specialists, and he's pretty much mismanaged Bogaerts since he came up (although signing Drew is on BC as well, and XB was going to have to adjust at some point). But his lineups are not often optimal, he's not great with moves to the pen, and he sits people while they're hot.

I don't agree with sitting Xander today. He's white hot, hopefully it doesn't throw his rhythm off.

Also doesn't seem to fully utilize pinch hitters, optimize his platoons or use LOOGYs the right way. I'd agree he has mismanaged bogaerts since he came up.

In light of the attention it was getting, I moved the Bogaerts discussion to its own thread.

These early starts are really annoying for those of us who work until 6 or 7.

Really bad play from Hanley in LF-- just ole'd a catchable ball that bounced off the base of the wall. The first real regular season miscue.

I think he lost it in the grey sky. Also that's why you don't want Holt playing SS. He has little range.
