That's crazy that the game is still around and being updated, thanks for the post. I remember getting my hands on that mod 5-6 years ago and being amazed. Loved bringing the Sox to a WS with Clay Buchholz as the ace and Hanley hitting bombs in the middle of the lineup.

Read that article yesterday. I still play MVP'05 to this day, greatest baseball game of all time, easily. I actually put together an all-steroid 25-man in franchise mode recently.

What really get's me after buying this years mlb the show is: Mookie is looking way more like him in the modded mvp game and there are ten years between the programmed graphic engines!

Its really kind of baffling that baseball games out today just can't replicate a ten year old game.

Jon Dowd was good.

Dowd was funny enough but I loved Kevin Freese, the black, blond haired version of Kevin Millar.

Dowd was funny enough but I loved Kevin Freese, the black, blond haired version of Kevin Millar. I loved how they went out of their way to make the scabs different races, like that would insulate them from a lawsuit or something. Trying to remember if they did that with the Top 100 prospects too, or if they went the other way or made them look very much like their real-life counterparts, but with names that didn't fit (e.g., Asian-sounding name on a white kid, etc.)

MVP Baseball 2005 was by far the best ever. It's a real shame they can't come up with something decent today. The part of MVP I loved the most was the organizational part, how you ran the whole thing from MLB to A. These days all they ever do is tweak the control systems.

There isn't one for the Xbox One either. Playstation has MLB The Show, but that's really it.
