Why is ogando warming up? Koji only threw 10 pitches.

Man, that guy looks like the same Koji. Was going to post the exact same words in pretty much the exact same sequence. He looks unhittable again.

Why is ogando warming up? Koji only threw 10 pitches. And Tazawa threw 14 or so before that. Good thing we don't have to worry about that now.

Ah, I love a good walk-off ... been a while.
And, another reason I love Koji: he was the first guy to get to Xander in the post-game scrum.

Bogey and Hanigan were the only starters that didn't walk though. For shame.

Seriously, how did Napoli know that was going to drop in? That was very close to being caught ... that bordered on reckless. But I'll take it!

Agree, that was some ballsy baserunning. If that's caught, we're heading to extras with our best bullpen arms already used up.
Not gonna lie, I hope Bogaerts starts producing more hard contact as we settle into the season but I'll take the results thus far. Everything is finding grass for him right now.

A calculated risk informed by years of having watched flares just like that one, and understanding what the fielders' positioning meant. He never hesitated at all so he must have figured it was a good gamble.

God, Ryan Hanigan just has such professional at-bats. I love that dude. This is so true. He is not the greatest hitter but he has a very good eye and maximizes his chances. Like Napoli, Papi & Nava, he makes a pitcher earn it.

A day later, I can't help by laugh at Buck Showalter's whining.
That plunking of Sandoval was as intentional as it gets and he hit him in the top of the back very close to the head. What the hell are you complaining about? Don't have your pitcher intentionally throw at a guy if you don't want him to get him ejected, and you know that order came from Showalter, he is the "old school" one.
God such a baby.

I live in MD, and I like the O's, but cannot stand Showalter. The guy had talent, in NY, TX and now Bal. with precious little to show for it. Buck excels in complaining and excuses.

Pete Abe tweeted the line-up. Mookie getting the day off. A little surprised Nava isn't in there. Maybe, not good numbers vs Tillman. Don't know.
#RedSox: vs. BAL: Holt CF, Pedroia 2B, Ortiz DH, Ramirez LF, Sandoval 3B, Napoli 1B, Victorino RF, Bogaerts SS, Hanigan C, Buchholz RHP

I thought it was a reasonable decision to eject Jimenez, but not an obvious one:
There was nothing remotely objectionable about Sandoval's slide; there really was NO reason for retaliation.
On the other hand, it was a first pitch with none on and frighteningly close to the head. Also, the Orioles have a real chip on their shoulder regarding the Red Sox, and Showalter has been very effective at nurturing and leveraging that resentment. After four decades of Red Sox teams coming to Baltimore and pounding Orioles teams and the regular embarrassment of stadiums cheering the visitors, Showalter's O's have reversed that the last four years.
Finally, I suspect much of Showalter's whining is really intended to (a) build on that sense of resentment and (b) avoid a fine or suspension for his player.

The Orioles haven't really reversed that the last four years. They still have barely any fans during the week and there are still a very large number of red sox fans at their games, myself included. They had Yankee games last week at less than 50% attendance. Thats pitiful. I can only imagine what a weekday april game against the Rays will get them.
They have a lot of bandwagoners show up in September if they have a wrap on the division but thats about it.

About Jiminez throwing at Sandoval. I thought it was payback for a slide he had in the first game, where he slid into 2nd and threw his hands up reaching for the second baseman.

Nava in for Victorino. Shane may have got nicked trying to catch O's HR ball last night.

Nava in for Victorino. Shane may have got nicked trying to catch O's HR ball last night. I was at the game in the right field box seats last night. As a old scout might say, "it sounded different" when he hit the wall hard. I immediately thought that either Rusney or JBJ would be getting a phone call soon.

Also really liking Clay's cutter today. Looking much better than last week.
