Devers is 4 for 5 with a HR and a pair of doubles today. Good to see as he came into the game with only 3 XBH's all year. He hit a 2nd home run (a grand slam) in his final PA. Edit: Now at .329/.350/.474/.824, was at .286/.311/.329/.640 coming into today

I agree that Rodriguez is first in line as well. But it's important to note that the team shouldn't (and probably isn't) deciding that based on "who had the best start last week. If they thought Johnson was next in line a week ago, today's start wouldn't have changed that, just like if they didn't think he was ready his seven-inning shutout last week wouldn't have altered anything. I was about to make this same post. Each individual start isn't changing how valuable or ready each pitcher is for the majors. Rodriguez is first in line because Johnson and Owens aren't on the 40. We have 40 man players who could be DFA'd anyway should Johnson/Owens push themselves to a position where they should be called up too.

The idea of a Devers-Moncada 3-4 combo makes me want to move to South Carolina.

The idea of a Devers-Moncada 3-4 combo makes me want to move to South Carolina. if we keep all our prospects... the Sox could have a young, insane lineup in 3 years.

Wow thats a very noisy amount of bat movement before the pitch.
Hanley's outfield assist improved his UZR/150 from -42.8 to -42.1. Great news.

We could talk about this guy Allday. He's at .368 / .528 / .579 in 53 PA. Given his pedigree, unlikely to be anything in the long run, but he should be playing more.

Eduardo Rodriguez looking like first in line ahead of Owens and Johnson now. None of them appear to be completely ready though. Steven Wright looked to have command of his knuckleball back in his last start. If his next start confirms that, then I would hope he is first in line again.

Would have been cool if MILB.TV had that game Putting this here because there's no way I'd say this on the news page or Twitter: I was a mediocre HS baseball player in the northeast (in other words, no AAU or anything), and I have played in MUCH nicer parks than Hagerstown's park. They were having some kind of promo for what looked to be HS players if they wore their jerseys to the game, and when I saw all of them, I thought I was at the wrong field and there was a high school tournament going on. It looked like what you might expect from like, a good D-3 college program's park.
