Never did i think Joe Kelly would give up 3 runs before the 5th inning. I was wrong. Why would you think that? Pitchers far better than Joe Kelly give up three run innings. And I'm not saying Joe Kelly is bad or anything. That's just not a thing I would think about thinking.

But it doesn't make sense as a joke either. Giving up three runs in five innings isn't especially bad or anything. It's just a thing that happens.

Wow and then Farrell decides it would be a great idea to fry the bullpen for the series.

Way to go Red Sox....god this team is so frustrating.
Joe Kelly's time in the rotation is quickly evaporating.

A winning streak would really help the mood of Red Sox Nation. Not sure it will happen this year though, yikes.

That Lackey trade looks so awful its almost laughable how bad it was. We are starting to notice a trend of younger players doing poorly under Farrell though.

Actually it is. Sure there was some luck involved. But if he induced some swings and misses there wouldn't have been so many lucky hits.

The Twins clearly prayed and sacrificed to the BABIP gods before this game.

And an infield hit for the 7th. I guess you could get rid of that luck if you strike everyone out. 10 freakin hits by the 2nd inning with one hard hit ball.

These games where the Sox are out of it from the jump are so damn frustrating...
I mean did i dream up Joe Kelly telling ppl he would win the Cy Young award? because that sounds so pathetic right now. Bet i could find ppl around here who would tell you he would be a Cy candidate if he were luckier lol

I wouldn't have pulled Kelly. Down 7-0 with 50 pitches you might as well try and get 4 innings from him instead of asking Barnes to go long in a blowout.

It's not his fault at all, I mean it's pure luck that a guy coming into the game with a 5.13 ERA gives up 7 runs. And as you pointed out, ZERO strikeouts. Pure luck.

It happens, but it's still ridiculously unlucky. 1 hard hit ball and over 70% strikes usually doesn't end up with 7 runs allowed and 5 outs.
