Sounds awesome though, Devers being that high.

Sounds awesome though, Devers being that high. Sure looks nice, but it seems like quite a jump. He was Law's #55 in January and still wasn't in the top 50 in late March/early April when he updated the Top 50. He has had a good two months, but has it been THAT good? He didn't give much of a write-up, but hopefully, he is seeing something to justify the jump!

That explains a lot of the jump.

Law is on record as giving quite a bit of weight to ceiling. Those three can be dreamed on.

After just graduating Bogaerts, Betts, and Swihart, that is some major farm system badassery.

And Vasquez (De la Rosa. Webster, Ranaudo, Wilson) and Barnes, Wright, et al. Not bad.

Gunkel ... slowly and quietly getting noticed by SoxNation. Just a little.

Yeah, wasn't Bogaerts in the Top 5 a few years ago? I'm tired of getting excited about our prospects, who end up either underperforming in the MLB or are just overrated. I'll get excited about them from now on when they start to actually produce.

Most of the guys his age aren't even in AAA yet.

His defense is league average and thus far, I see a lack of command of the strike zone, little power and soft contact far too often. I see too many weak ground balls, pop-up outs, and bloops and bleeders for hits. I certainly hope I am wrong, but I think he has been overrated coming through the system.

He's 22! There is so much more projection to him. Theres a reason Law and many others were and are so,high,on him. He has tons of potential...and we can see it,now...his defense has taken precedence over his offense so far. He was God awful at SS last year. Now he is right above league average. Once he is comfortable at SS in the MLB, I think we will stArt to see that power, plate discipline, high average ability shine through. DO NOT WRITE HIM OFF YET. He has the ability to be a perennial all star. Plus he also ends the revolving door at SS that we have had since Nomar. I haven't looked it up in a while..but I would imagine since '03 we have probably had one of the most if not the most players start at SS in the majors. (at least top 7/8)
