Thanks as always to the hard working people who make this site go. Cant wait for 7pm. Let a big name fall, and let us welcome that big name with open arms (I'm talking to you Dillon Tate).

I'm skipping going to the gym tonight to sit home and watch the draft. All my friends, family, training partners, and co-worker think I'm crazy.......they just don't understand.

Figuring Rodgers and Swanson are gone before we pick, this is my favorites for the Sox at #7: 1) Tucker 2) Benintendi 3) Fulmer 4) Tate 5) Aiken 6) Allard 7) Bregman Tucker has as good upside as anyone in the draft, and I can't shake Brady Aiken as an under-slot signing

However Boston proceeds with the 7th pick I'm going to try to remember they already gave us Moncada and Espinoza this year who both appear to be high first round type talents. Today's pick is just icing on the cake to a still deep and talented farm system so let's try to enjoy the process. Happy Draft Day everyone!

Will miss the draft, but be reading this board around 9pm. Please capture all the agony, ecstasy and opinions for me (and posterity). You all are my first and best look at the MLB draft results.

Bregman is hitting just over .300 in college and is a marginal SS and likely 2B. I get he has good intangibles but I just don't see that at #7 for us. Really hope someone with a more immediate middle infield need snaps him up early. I prefer upside at this pick....still a sucker for Allard.

Chris Cotillo @chriscotillo 58 sec. Hearing Ke'Bryan Hayes moving up draft boards. Potential top-10 pick.
Was mentioned by Callis as being a potential Red Sox money saving pick.

Callis, Mayo, Manuel (BA) and SI.com have "reported in" this morning with their mocks. All have Swanson/Rodgers/Bregman going 1-3. Jay is other unanimous selection for Minny at 6.
Texas at 4 is current "wild car" with Tate (Callis and SI), Cameron (Manuel and Mayo) splitting the consensus.
Still waiting for updates from Law, Crawford, McDaniel and Garrioch (Callis and Manuel likely to update later this afternoon as well).

No expertise, but the internet entitles everyone to an opinion; put me down for preference of:
1/2. Rodgers/Swanson (both unlikely) 3. Tate 4. Fulmer 5. Bregman 6. Benintendi
Outside of those gents I'll be a little disappointed. If any of them are available and we go "off the board" for money saving I'll be very disappointed.

I'd prefer one of the top 3 college pitchers, Tucker, or Aiken depending on his medicals. There's no chance Rodgers or Swanson get to us and a sliver of a chance Bregman is there.

Laws mock update:
1. Swanson 2. Bregman 3. Rodgers 4. Clark 5. Benintendi 6. Tate 7. Happ
"Looking at Happ vs Fulmer with inclination toward the bat over the arm."
8. Fulmer 9. Jay 10. Tucker

Tucker and Aiken (if OK medical) have some great upside. Hope they don't just take someone to re-allocate money later. This draft is not that strong or deep.

Callis and Mayo also indicating that Naylor could be jumping into the 7-12 range (considered by some to have top power in draft).

Law is so high on Newman and Happ that he projects them higher than most. That's the way I see it. He has them consistently going higher than they do in any other mocks.
On his personal list he said Newman was his #1 in the class and Happ was top 10. Looks like he's being too opinionated in his mock.
