I don't see a Lester for Myers trade happening unless it is expanded considerably and we might not like the players leaving in that scenario. But if we could get Myers (without loosing one of our top 5 prospects) to play LF and sign Hamilton to play RF and sign Grienke & Sanchez to Pitch & THEN sign Napoli to Catch & Swisher to play 1B we might have a playoff contender I think. Sure hope this is sarcasm: Hamilton: 5/120ish Greinke: 6/150 ( Dodgers rumor) Sanchez: 4/55 Napoli: 3/33ish Swisher: 4/60 Around $400 mil spent in one offseason, sounds familiar

I think this team can compete without Lester. The St Louis model is one I like. They have a bunch of good arms, no traditional ace. Wainwright may be, but they won without him. Buchholz will be good. Lackey will be a solid 5, worst case. Doubront could/should mature to a solid 3. De la Rosa will help at some point. Morales flashed in 2012. Aceves would add a solid innings eater who gives u a hence to win every 5 days. That's before we see who they sign and trade for. Patience. If this trade went through I would be ecstatic to say the least. With that being said, their pitching would NOT be fine. I will admit, last offseason I kept saying why are we stockpiling on arms, don't we have enough staters? Lester, Beckett, Matsuzaka, Bard, Buch, Doubront, Padilla, Silva, Maine, Aceves, among others, I couldn't have been more wrong. You look at this year, if this trade somehow happens, Buch is really our only reliable pitcher. Doubront- Fell off the map in the 2nd half, SHOULD improve this year, but not a top rotation pitcher to depend on yet. Aceves- We know he can transition back to the rotation with ease, but will he be at least serviceable? Lackey- Coming off TJS, big question mark. Morales- Showed glimpses, but had inconsistencies. Big question mark. De La Rosa- were all excited, but major question marks in terms of his role in 2012. Even if we sign a Dan Haren or Villanueva, this rotation isn't where we'd like It to be. With that being said, if this deal is actually being consisted, it would be awesome. A 2016 Boston Red Sox dynasty with dynamic young players in WMB, Myers, Bogaerts, Bradley, Webster, DLR, Barnes, and other young pieces in Brentz, Lava, etc, plus vets in Pedey and Buchholz, and all the money to spend on free agents. DYNASTY. I'm getting ahead of myself...

By the way I think Sanchez gets more like 5/90 - 6/110 And some idiot GM will probably end up giving Napoli 4/40

It's looking more and more like Cherrington is going to be that idiot. He'll probably end up paying something like 4/60 too.
