Moncada should be the TBA IF but he probably won't be. Y'know, that's actually not a bad thought. Forgot you occasionally had something interesting to contribute.

Moncada should be the TBA IF but he probably won't be. Does his participation in Florida Instructs preclude his involvement in the AFL?

Would think Henry Ramos would be prime for AFL? Skills guy who p ut up 800 ops as a 22 year old in AA in 2014 and didn't really get a full 2015 in.

So we'd thrown Williams Jerez out as a potential AFL option, but looking at the LIDOM draft results, it looks like he's considered, in their eyes at least, as a native Dominican: www.baseballamerica.com/international/dominican-league-rookie-draft/For those unfamiliar, I believe he moved to the U.S. for high school from the D.R. (which led to suspicions he was older than he claimed to be).

Not Red Sox related, but it's really awesome that Dahl is going to be healthy enough to participate.

There you go. I was wondering if the Phillies had traded him because they don't plan on being able to contend before he hits free agency.

www.baseballamerica.com/minors/sanchez-meadows-blandino-home-runs-lead-west-fall-stars-victory/Sean Manaea had four strikeouts in two hitless innings last night in the AFL All-Star game. Billy Beane didn't have his best season last year, but getting Manaea for two months of Ben Zobrist was great move for him. I liked Manaea when the Sox were picking 7th in 2013 (and actually wasn't sure he'd even be available), but he got hurt and then dropped because there seemed a real chance he'd return for his senior year to raise his draft stock back up. I can't find a box score, any word on whether Sam Travis got in the game? EDIT: Just another reminder that the current crop of Red So minor leaguers is pretty incredible: I'd have Manaea in my overall Top 40 for sure - maybe Top 30 - and I'd probably have him sixth in the system (and certainly not higher than fourth). And maybe like 12th or 13th among 25-and-under.
