Allen is indeed going for the GCL. I'd expect he'll be followed by De Jesus after an inning or two.

Cuzittt over on SOSH reports that the Greenville game will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. Yeah, I noticed they televise a game from different MiLB leagues at least weekly or maybe more often.

GCL Sox with only 2 hits through 8 innings. Logan Allen was ok. But De Jesus excellent in relief - 5IP, 1ER, 2H, 1BB, 6K's. An arm to watch.

Max Watt promoted to Lowell Wow.. That was quick. Did he even pitch for the GCL Sox? Entire time I was in Ft Myers, he was walking around in his warmup jersey only.

Chavis with a real nice AB leading to his 2b. Easy oppo pop there too.

Chavis just smoked a hanging breaking ball for a HR. Easy power.

But Greenville is losing. So is Portland. Pawtucket, GCL, and DSL 1 already lost. At least Salem is tied, but they have no xbh and nobody interesting pitched. This doesn't bode well for future Red Sox teams.

Not sure if the organizational culture can come back from that loss to the DSL Rojos but maybe Jason Varitek will fix it when he is hired Team President and get that loss overturned.

Chavis just smoked a hanging breaking ball for a HR. Easy power. Every time Chavis hits a home run there are several tweets or comments about how it was a rocket. Sounds like he needs to shorten his stroke and cut down on the Ks, because it seems like the ball is going to travel no matter what with him.

His swing is pretty short and quick as is, but he needs to settle down and get in the box with a plan to mitigate the K's.

His swing is pretty short and quick as is, but he needs to settle down and get in the box with a plan to mitigate the K's. I have seen hm several times this year and From what I have seen, it takes him a while to read the pitch and a lot of his strike outs would be hits, but he was too late to swing because he takes too long to diagnose the incoming pitch. The eye hand coordination is above average, but the pitch recognition is below average.

All he needs to do is work on pitch recognition and become Mike Napoli (the 1B version, not the catcher).
