According to Farrell, he's doing a lot better and could be good to go by next weekend.

Who gets the call to pitch on Tuesday vs. MFYs? My guess is Johnson. Doubt they call him up yet as they could use the spot to activate Cook.

If anyone has eyes on for Johnson, I'd like to know if he's fixed his throwing to first? His lob is worse than Lester and I had heard nothing about it before I saw it in the bigs.

Why do people still pitch away to Xander?

Why do people still pitch away to Xander? Because him turning on an inside pitch is worse for them ... seems to me he is hitting inside pitches harder but that is just a gut feeling.

People gave Wade Boggs grief for years over his lack of Home runs. He hit plenty of 2b and went to the hall. If Xander hits like this year from now on, with limited power, he'd still be a great player. I think the power will come, my doubts were on D, and he shut me up there.

Wade Boggs had a 6.9% career K%, 13.1% BB rate, and a .344 BABIP.
Bogaerts this year has a 15.5% K rate, doesn't walk, and has a higher BABIP. He isn't wade Boggs. He's going to need to remember how to work counts and tap into his raw again.

So what you're saying is Xander has zero weaknesses as a hitter? Agreed. I can explain Xander like this: Years n Years ago when my daughter was learning to play ball, I set a Tee in the middle of the plate. As I stood her up there I then drew a big circle in the air covering both edges of the plate... I told her see that circle that is your part of the plate you should own it. When the pitcher hits those four corners around the edge of that circle let him have them as his, when he gets a strike or two on you ... foul those pitches off until you get one in the circle then drive it... Apparently no one bothered to tell Xander about who those 4 corners belonged to...

This kind of production isn't sustainable would be my point of contention. Although I still expect him to start hitting for power once pitchers give up on pitching him outside all the time (which I think may start happening soon because he gets opposite field hits like the old David Wright).

Fair. I think we agree more than we disagree on Xander.

Miley has 106 pitches and already gave up a double to Loney, but let's send him back out.

JBJ please start hitting. First righty he's started against in a long time. I think JBJ is ready and will hit.
