I wonder what it is like for a guy like Couch, who laboriously works his way through the minors with the dream of reaching The Show despite not having the world's greatest talent? And then a year like this one at a time when he is aging out of any semblance of prospect status has to hit him with the reality that he is a minor leaguer. He doesn't QUITE have it.

With Kopech's suspension the pitching slates in the low minors are uninspiring on a daily basis (except when Espinoza starts). Hopefully a few guys in the DSL and the GCL become legit prospects, because after Owens and Johnson it appears there is not much coming.

Whiff of interest this draft with Watt, Kelleher, Brakeman, Lakins and Taylor. More fairly hard to REALLY hard throwers that generally have more upside than the Sox have taken in the same draft in awhile. Watt, Kelleher and Taylor all probably pen arms, but still nice to see a flock of all power arms taken, rather than a draft full of guys all throwing 88- 91-92, which we have seen all to often before.

GCL Sox postponed again. Box says wet grounds. Noah on his way to the Gulf Coast. It's been raining/storming every single day here in central Florida for 2 weeks. Hope it slows down some end of August when we plan to spend another week at The Fort.

Any word on why Benintendi is missing at least his second game in a row?

Any word on why Benintendi is missing at least his second game in a row? Yeah, since he was pinch hit for after a play at the plate he's been out! I hope it's minor and they're just cautious about it.

Dedgar Jimenez has a 59% ground ball rate if he's able to add a couple of ticks he could get interesting

Lol Moncada got caught stealing home?
Edit: Should've looked at the log first. Mars got picked off first and he tried to sneak home from 3rd.

With 3/5 (2 2B) tonight, Yoan has reached the .800 OPS for the first time this year.

Since the all-star game, he's hitting .336/.427/.538/.965 in 134 AB+BB. Time for Yoan to move to Salem. I'd be surprised if he weren't promoted after Sunday's game.

He's been absurd lately. Really rooting for him to hit the ground running in Salem.

His 132 wRC+ is the 4th best mark in all of short-season A ball for players 19 and under. L. Alex Basabe is 3rd. Given the size of his bonus, if he keeps this up, he'll deserve a spot in the top 40 at least. His current 58 already seems way too low.

you forget about Beeks in Greenville I was going to mention him, too. Got his ninth win last night. Thanks for your input; much appreciated. Must be a fun job this year what with all the talent at Greenville.
