Pshhh, walk in the park against these starting pitchers
White Sox and Indians have 3 top of the rotation pitchers including 1 "true ace" each, and they only have 2 more wins then we do this year. It doesn't solve all your problems.

It doesn't solve all your problems. The White Sox' position players have accumulated 2.5 WAR this year. The second worst team in the MLB has gotten 7.0 fWAR from theirs. That's crazy bad. Indians are 14th in positional player fWAR. I think they're getting pretty unlucky honestly.

I find myself disappointed every time I see a lineup pop up with Hanley in it. God, this got bad. He has got to go, even if we eat every red cent (certainly let's not trade prospects to get rid of him).

"G'dammit, we're holding JBJ out to give him time against the lefties and we'll keep doing it until it works!"

I really think not moving Hanley to the IF has to do with his comments about how he considers himself an outfielder. I think he'd prefer to play the outfield because it's easier on his body, (and maybe because he could get away with being a little lazier out there) and the team doesn't want to go against the veterans preference just yet.
And if Hanley considers himself an outfielder, then I consider myself a super model

What a mess -- even the GOOD players cause the franchise problems.

Is Swihart hurt?
I understand giving him a day off every now and then, but he didn't play yesterday either.

Trying to figure out if: 1. Hanley can bounce back? 2. Could an OF of Betts, JBJ, Castillo be among the best defensive OF's in MLB? 3. Could an OF of Betta, JBJ, Castillo have a .350+OBP, 50+HR, 100xbh, 75SB??? 4. Would that value be off the charts at an average cost of c. $13M per yr for 3+ yrs? 5. If Hanley's bat can bounce back, can he play 1B well? 6. When does the FO explore his defensive potential at 1B? 7. When does the FO determine that the 'kids' OF is more valuable than one w. Hanley? 8. Would the FO further sacrifice the 'kids' OF to keep playing Hanley in LF? 9. Would the FO actually sacrifice Hanley if he can't play 1B well, if his bat rebounds? 10. With so much $$ coming off the books, and Price, Cueto and others available for $$, would the FO actually diminish defense to trade one of the 'kids' for another SP or RP and keep Hanley? 11. If so, why?

I wonder how much Samardzija has driven his price down as a free agent. Might be a bargain to keep in mind this winter.

Wakefield is so fixated on how many wins pitchers get its kind of sad. He's truly a horrendous analyst. Also, benching JBJ again is ridiculous. This organization is mindless.

For all the talk about Hanley's fielding, no one is talking about how horrible he has been hitting. He has a 16 wRC+ in August and 9 home runs in the last 4 months.

Rusney's definitely got some pop. That kind of looked like a routine fly out off the bat

Holy crap, Rusney didn't even get all of that. I'm pretty damn impressed with him.

Castillo certainly packs a punch. Wish he could elevate it more often, but he's been great.

I just hope we did not tar and feather the scout who spotted Castillo back when he was in a slump.

This version of the team is so much more enjoyable to watch than the one on the field in the first half of the season.
