Would expect a one-inning appearance from Lakins before he gives way to Raudes or Allen.

Why have him make a 1-inning season debut in the playoffs? Seems odd, no? Is there a timing thing here to be aware of? Brakeman did the same thing in the last (or next to last) game of the year. Are they starting to get ramped up for fall instrux already?

Are they starting to get ramped up for fall instrux already? I think there is a very structured timeline for these guys as they go through their throwing program. Lakins and Brakeman both signed close to the deadline so it makes sense their debuts would come later. I'm sure they are ramping up for instrux already.

Good lord ... another Travis. Sox decision tree on acquiring players: "Do they have "Travis" in their name? Yes: acquire! No: scout further."

According to the lineup, Logan Allen is actually starting the game.

Just wondering if I missed anything, but did anyone see what the Sox were planning on doing with Barnes after he was optioned? Hasn't pitched yet and he's not in the probables either.

Logan Allen unimpressed by the Jays' three 22-year-old college draftees at the top of the order. 1-3, Ks, Kl

I think I said this before, but I'm still hoping for a platoon at first in Boston in 2017, so I can call them collectively Sam Travis Shaw. Sounds like a serial killer or an assassin. "velly, velly interesting! in a German accent, with the old Kaiser era helmet, Circa WW1 as I recall? I can't recall the name of the blond haired actor, with wire rimmed glasses who played that part now.. So many years ago Steve.. Any help? Edit: I googled and finally found it.. Even under his google page. It was Arte Johnson as what he was best known for.

Logan Allen doubled the amount of ERs he has given up this year with his 4 IP, 6H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K.
But he also improved his K/BB to 28/1 which is pretty good.

Allen was a steal. His "ceiling" as discussed at the time of the draft may prove to be a bit too low.

Has anyone seen Allen pitch yet, I am truly intrigued on his scouting report. His velocity, his control and his command.
On paper he looks really good, I wonder what he looks like in person.

Seadogs win it in the 9th, Kyle Martin with the save. Eliminating NH Fisher Cats.
Lowell trails 11-5 with 5-error effort.
edit: Scranton wins, Rochester beats PawSox to keep pace. Aro and Noe perfect 3 innings in relief.

Laugh-in was the show that started the extreme quick-hitting comedy format. The first major TV move toward shortening attention spans and feeding instant gratification. Rowan and Martin helped to pioneer that era, too. One of my favorite Laugh In lines from telephone operator Lily Tomlin: "A very pleasant good morning to you. Is this the party to whom I am speaking?"
