I'm interested in watching Rich Hill pitch again. He looks like a decent depth option for next year. But he may be pitching himself into a better option with another team.

If every MLB ump was wiped off the face of the earth, the world would be a better place.

Hill's changeup is just devastating. Tremendous arm action makes it look like he's throwing the ball as hard as he can, but it comes in eight or nine mph slower than the fastball.

3-2 split down and Xander rifles it off the monster. Beautiful. 10th XBH of the month after having 11 in July and August combined.

I hope they work something out with Rich Hill. Really impressed with him so far.

Can't watch the game because of the mlb.tv blackout, but I turn on Gameday, see there's first and second and Machado up, and I just figure, "Rich Hill will strike him out." Which he does.

Anyone remember the game twenty or so years ago where instead of both Sox runners safe at the plate like Pedey and X, they were both tagged out on the same batted ball?

Well, according to Don and Jerry as of now Tory said Breslow is going as long as it takes until he gives up a run so apparently only one batter tomorrow.... isn't that how long ot will take him to give up a run?

if Rich hill was on our staff since spring training, he'd be a Cy Young candidate and we'd be fighting for a wild card, at a minimum. 2yrs / 12 million

WOW. That catch was insane. Especially with what happened the last time he and the bullpen wall got together.
And to preserve the CG Shutout for Hill. What an ending. Unreal.

I guess the Sox don't need to trade any young talent or spend $200 to $250 million on an ace pitcher - they've got Rich Hill. I don't know exactly what they do with Hill. I can't imagine he was in their 2016 plans, but I think the Sox have to bring him back and keep him healthy. If they could find a way to keep Hill on ice until August maybe Buchholz could stay healthy until then before getting hurt and Hill can take his spot and continue the strong pitching in that spot. Sort of like a platoon ace. Seriously, they do need to take a look at keeping him and seeing where it goes. I suspect he can pitch well for awhile before ultimately he gets hurt again. The Sox definitely don't have a legit 200 innings per year ace, but they have a good quantity of serviceable starters between Rodriguez (most likely to be an ace), Buchholz, Kelly, Porcello, Miley, Owens, Wright, and now Hill. And they certainly will go out and try to get a top of the rotation starter. I just wonder how they stash away the depth. I suppose Wright starts out in the bullpen because they would lose him otherwise as he's out of options. Owens would start in Pawtucket if he's not dealt. Perhaps Kelly, and maybe even Hill start in the bullpen, too? That would leave starter acquisition, Buchholz if healthy, Rodriguez, Miley, and Porcello in the rotation to start the 2016 season. Interesting situation. Meanwhile, Mookie in RF at Fenway could be a lot of fun. What a spectacular catch and balancing act to preserve Hill's shutout. I'm happy for Rich Hill. That's awesome.
