Best analysis I've seen of the changes Bogaerts wrought to his swing, from a guest piece by Alec Dopp at Peter Gammons Daily. I thought a thread for the coming year might be a good way to get the discussion going, and to track whatever changes this year will bring.

I'm going to assume Bogaerts will be dead in 2916.

I'm thinking this is finally the year the NL adopts the DH.

I'm thinking that if you change the spelling of wrought to rot, it makes more sense.

Waiting for eric to disprove this Take a bow, sir. I cannot prove or disprove this, but I did correctly predict that every single reply in this thread would be about the typo.

If boegarts is hitting third, he should have tons of opportunities to drive in runs. I can see .300, 15 taters and hopefully 100 rbi's.
The real question is throwing to first. With rameriez there, the throws have to be almost perfect every time.

For the love of all that his holy, Larry - it's Ramirez (not Ramiriez).

There was a story out there someplace about how hard Hanlie is working at defense.

For the love of all that his holy, Larry - it's Ramirez (not Ramiriez). I know....it drives me nuts when he does that. You'd think Ramirez was some crazy hard to spell name, but my God, we saw about a decade of another prominent Ramirez - MANNY. (And we had Hanley prior to the 2006 season, too!) You'd think it wouldn't be such a mystery on how to spell such a simple, seen very often, kind of name. And no matter how many times he gets corrected, Larry persists on messing it up. Either he's doing it on purpose to annoy us or he's absolutely totally clueless about the perception of it.

I suspect we will be seeing a lot of Noe Ramierez this season, the talented RP out of E.L.A. Having two Ramiriezes on the team might be confusing, so best to call them Hanley and Noe?

I'm sorry, my fault for the latest one. I didn't expect the misspelling derailment. But I did find it humorous. Enough is enough, though. Time to move on to Bogaerts.

Who, of course, actually has the name that's easy to spell wrong. I'll just note that he's always been a slow starter, power-wise, so going homerless through May 15th or so would probably mean nothing. OTOH, if he hits some bombs early, that could actually mean something.

According to Jerry and Obie, the XMan was knighted after playing for the Netherlands and winning the World Cup. First I heard of that. Sir Xander, a Dutch Knight. Is his bat named Excaliber?
