Hanley has like an 80 wRC+ in his last 550 PA, which is probably what Rutledge is gonna give you anyway so no downgrade there.

It's the god damn Braves, gimme a break if you're gonna complain who Farrell tosses out there in this series. Sure, that's fine, whatever. Nevertheless, batting Rutledge 5th is wrong, plus I suspect that Shaw 3B Rutledge 1B would be the better defensive alignment.

Against the MFY, guys like Headley, Texeira, E-Rod, Gardner will improve their OBP

This is the usual Farrell Sunday lineup(obviously minus the DH spot), just couldnt throw that out on SNB.

Against the MFY, guys like Headley, Texeira, E-Rod, Gardner will improve their OBP I'm old enough to remember when Owens was a potential ace because of his AA strikeout rates. (despite that, I still like the guy and support giving him this start against the Yankees, who have been garbage against lefties (.225/.311/.291) this year.)

It's their 10.7% BB% vs LHP that scares me, I hope the BP will be well rested before that game.

I really hope Teheran isn't the starter Dom goes after towards the deadline. It's actually my biggest fear.

Oh yeah let's just bat Rutledge 5th, because there's a ton of empirical evidence showing people perform worse if moved around in the order. I assume Farrell is benching Ortiz and Ramirez because staying up late last night would lead them to dying at 1B today. Gotta get Josh his at bats. Gotta get him going.

It's the god damn Braves, gimme a break if you're gonna complain who Farrell tosses out there in this series. Giving Ortiz and Hanley a day off against a terrible team is something you should do. Give them a day off against Chacin too just to be safe. Hanley has like an 80 wRC+ in his last 550 PA, which is probably what Rutledge is gonna give you anyway so no downgrade there. And Ortiz will prob play like 140 games this year. So a day off after a late night is a good idea. Guessing Hanley gets two days off here. But you do know Hanley was injured last year, right? Well is he still injured? He has a lower wRC+ this year than last.

Im not a big fan of CVs bat. I think Blake is being wasted in AAA. As I said in the Hanigan vs Vazquez vs Swihart thread, I think that Blake's value is greatly reduced when you move him to left field. His bat at catcher almost makes him elite, and average anywhere else. I don't see the point in moving him to left field, because his bat doesn't play there as well and moncada will soon be knocking on the door. Blake already has a great arm. Framing and calling will come with MLB experience. But right now he is hanging out to dry in Pawtucket. I think CV is a great backup, a guy that catches certain starting pitchers who seem to do better with him catching. I think that Swihsrt should be the starting catcher. #wheresblake
EDIT: I will admit, that was an awesome pickoff by CV
