With both teams having a day off today wonder why PawSox and Chiefs didn't make up the game they lost yesterday. They're both in the same city.

Gonna be in Frederick today for my first look at Moncada, Benintendi, Devers, Longhi ... too bad the ERod rehab start wasn't today, I'd be in minor league heaven.

I was thinking about tomorrow, but looks like rain all afternoon and evening.

Rodriguez is pitching for Pawtucket tomorrow not Salem.

Nick Longhi is a big boy, hit a nice double, eventually knocked in by a Devers double deep down the left field line.
Montana, Dubon, and Benintendi just hit maybe the three loudest outs in a row I've seen in the minors. Scorched.

Ooof, that was a big boy home run by Devers. He hit a bullet that never got higher than about 15 feet off the ground and hit the signs behind the right field fence in less than 2 seconds, not exaggerating.

Buttrey 2.2 innings, 71 pitches.
Salem winning but Moncada and Benintendi aren't the reason Drive 1-1 top 4th but have the bases loaded with 1 out. . . Drive now up 3-1, both Basabes and Washington with doubles. Jiminez just gave up a 3 spot and the SalSox down 5-4 after 5. Devers 2/2 with a 2B and a HR. The Mets have figured out how to stop Portland's juggernaut offense. SeaDogs down 5-0 in the 6th.

Let's just say Yoan Moncada can work on his defensive concentration and leave it at that for now.

Let's just say Yoan Moncada can work on his defensive concentration and leave it at that for now. I think his footwork is terrible, particularly on the pivot. He'll make an incredible outfielder.

The Basabes are smoking today. (x has been on a roll). They're just babies but:
j 2/4 2B,3B x 3/3 2 2B, SB
lol, just as I typed that j with another error at shortstop. The tools are there but don't expect him to all of a sudden play like a pro.

Andrew Benintendi hit a VERY long home run to break it open in Frederick. Now 14-7, SalSox

You should go back and read what people said about Cano's defense in the minors. Hell, for the first few years of his MLB career even.

Hell, for the first few years of his MLB career even. lol, actually, the tools are there and he's young. He wouldn't be the first player to start high A needing defensive work. That was intended more as a minor Shaw commentary looking forward. ADD: In my opinion, if everything went extremely well for Moncada's development at second base, he'll never be as good a second baseman as Mookie Betts.

I think Moncada would look best in RF personally, though he could wind up in many places.

Fun thing to think about, if your starting outfield was Betts, Moncada and Benintendi, how would you deploy them ? Jury has to be on hold there because we have no idea about how Moncada would handle the outfield. Tools wise, he's the center fielder.

In the middle of Salem's 10 run eighth, runs scored consecutively on BB,BB,HBP,BB,BB. Five free passes with the bases loaded.
Drive lost 5-3. Basabes 5/8 (3) 2B, 3B, SB Unusual double play turned by the Drive (game not on TV, 3B,1B,SS).

Bad timing and I hope for the best but a player drafted that high and repeating a level should do well. Otherwise they become Jason Place (repeated A ball).
