Yeah, I was gonna post that piece, too. Terrific read, loads of fun details. Theo calling the wrong Josh B, the sadness from the Padres teammates over missing out on the "Mirabelli money" ... fun stuff.
Made me a little embarrassed as a Sox fan, though, so much drama for Doug Mirabelli.

FWIW, tonight is the 30th anniversary of Roger Clemens' 1st 20K game. He was dominant that game. Almost lost the game, though. Fortunately Dwight Evans hit a 3-run HR in the last of the 7th to get him off the hook after he gave up a Gorman Thomas HR in the top of the 7th. That was the one game I missed during the 1986 season because I didn't have cable and the radio station I was listening to was broadcasting what turned out to be the pivotal game in the history of the old Hartford Whalers, a frustrating game 7 overtime loss to Montreal.
So I missed out on watching or listening to Clemens' dominance as it happened. I think other than Pedro's 17K performance against the Yanks in 99, that was as dominating a performance as I've ever watched and that includes his other 20K game and the four no-hitters I've seen Sox pitchers throw.

The Yucks are in town. My blood begins boiling. Unmatched feelings of disgust and hatred permeate my brain. I want our guys to beat them down......say it again...beat them down. It's pathological...I know...but I can't change it.

big game for Owens, he's going to face them lots if he were to stick. Well this is the Yankees, they don't swing until there are two strikes, and they aren't strikes if they don't swing.

Dammit! I have the MFY feed for tonight. I'd rather listen to Paulie or Kenny than Jerry. Kay and Obey a push, or slight edge to Kay.

Feel like Owens gave up on that bunt too quickly.

Wow, it seems like Shaw would've had time for a triple play there. Great nonetheless.

Wow, it seems like Shaw would've had time for a triple play there. Great nonetheless. He never would have gotten Gardner at 2nd. He had too far to run. Could have been a 5-3 DP though.

Wow, it seems like Shaw would've had time for a triple play there. Great nonetheless. Pablo would have made the triple play with his superior lateral quickness and pinpoint accurate throwing arm.
