I expect Benintendi in LF later this year Benintendi is an excellent prospect, but come on. This is asking far too much. Keith Law and several other experts have been saying for months that Benintendi in the second half isn't unrealistic at all. If people like Conforto and Schwarber can get to the majors so quickly from college, no reason Benintendi couldn't do the same.

Expecting him to end up as the Red Sox LF in 2016 isn't reasonable, but it's certainly realistic. The real test is going to be how he attacks AA once he moves up to Portland. If he barely blinks an eye there and is killing it after 150-200 PA's (let's say OPS'ing over .850, great BB/K numbers, no sudden red flags), it wouldn't be shocking if he's brought up to boost a Red Sox LF contingent that'll probably be OPS'ing .700 on the season.

It's the H part of DH that Hanley wouldn't be able to handle. He put up an OPS-plus of 90 last year and is at 91 this year. A contending team needs its DH to be an impact bat. To put Hanley's suckage in perspective, he's basically the same hitter as JBJ (89 OPS-plus) so far this year. Still early...

Awesome win. Props to Owens for keeping it close; JBJ, Papi for delivering the big hits; and the bullpen for kicking the door shut. Don't forget Holt's throw. And his baserunning from 1B to score the tying run. Brockstar, one of the killer Bs.

It's the same exact track as Conforto and Benintendi looks even better. I love the minuscule k-rate as an indicator that he won't have trouble. Conforto and who else? Schwarber It's a young man's game now.

Mookie; the count is 3-2; the pitch is at least 6 inches inside; THERE IS NO SHAME IN TAKING A WALK. 4% walk rates are unacceptable

Looks like we're going to see what the back end of the Yankees' bullpen looks like. 53 pitches in 2 innings for Pineda.

I'm not saying it's impossible but expecting it before he's seen AA pitch one just seems crazy to me. (edit: just noticed I repeated the first sentence of your post almost exactly, so... good stuff from me here)

Hanley is a Zen master! Seriously, I would loose my s*** if I get a strike zone like that.

It's walking more than striking out along with a great ISO and hitting the ball all over the field that does it for me. I know it's early, but he faced very good pitching in college and is really advanced. He's the same age as Margot who is in AAA now.
