Besides Benintendi, Ock, Hernandez, Longhi, Moncada and Ramos the hitting in the system has been BRUTAL over the last two weeks.

That's really the Mauricio Dubon experience in a nutshell. Very little power and not a ton of patience (especially as he moves up and pitchers have the control to just pound the zone against him), but doesn't strike out and has the batted ball profile to put up high batting averages. It's not sexy, but it plays well enough for a utility infielder.

Is there a website that lets you see MiLB batted ball patterns in a controlled time frame?

Kyri Washington......though I guess he must be really aggressive early in counts. 2 walks in 85 AB's.

It's not sexy, but it plays well enough for a utility infielder. Yeah, leaving aside my #TeamDubie boosterism, his arm is fringey at short, but he's got good hands and is athletic enough to play there at least as a backup. If he had any strength at all, he'd have a chance as a starter somewhere because he can put his bat on the ball pretty regularly. But he's got no power at all; he's really, really small. If he can keep hitting as he goes up, he could be a utility player, but unless he gets stronger major league starters will basically never walk him because he's almost incapable of getting an XBH.

David Cameron of Fangraphs said he thinks Swihart's Red Sox career is over... I find that a bit premature to speculate, but I do think the idea of Blake headlining a trade in the future is realistic. If they actually want to trade him though, doesn't playing him in LF so often lessen his trade value? A weird situation by all angles.

And you pretty much have to wait until he starts hitting again unless you plan on trading him like now, otherwise you're not going to maximize his value. But there's been no sign that this even matters to Dombrowski historically. Personally, I'm fine with trading Swihart, and was last year. His swing mechanics from the left side make it very difficult to pull the ball. I doubt he ever hits for enough power to be a huge bat as a catcher. He's still a 3 WAR player in my eyes though, and had 5 years of control. That's a big value. With that being said, I feel no rush to trade him and think Cameron is jumping the gun a bit by saying that.

Yeah...I just noticed this too. One inning, 3 walks, no hits, 2 earned runs.....Must have walked the bases loaded initially....

Playing Swihart in LF is a short sighted move by the Red Sox and only stunting his growth as a catcher. He got sent down because of his defense and by learning a new position it doesn't afford him the chance to do improve there. Seems like a very dumb move by the FO.

I predict that Benintendi will be promoted before his hitting streak ends.

I would only question that if his value is fairly low that he would be better than Hannigan. I know Swihart's receiving skills are questionable, but seeing Hannigan swinging through crap without even a David Ross big hit now and then is frustrating. If they are not going to develope Swihart's catching at Pawtucket, let him sit as Vasquez's backup, a potential PH and useful day off sub guy.

Do you think they want to promote both Moncada and Benintendi at the same time? I don't really see that much benefit to that but Benintendi is just demolishing high A and Im would promote him in the next week.
