Interesting article that the Sox contacted Belge in the third round to see if he would sign. Belge Article

If there was one guy that is probably more difficult to sign in the later rounds, I am hoping for Christian Jones. I'd also like to sign Beau Capanna, Granger Studdard, Juan Carlos Abreu and obviously Nick Quintana. I think that is actually realistic.
Thoughts?
Don't think any chance we sign Belge or he'd be up there. Can maybe afford to sign 2 of Tyler Fitzgerald, Christian Jones, Nick Quintana, Jeff Belge and Cam Shepherd

According to PG Juan Carlos Abreu was 6.33 60 yard dash which puts him in the 99.5 percentile. Having been a successful collegiate sprinter, I can say that 6.33 is blazing fast, and requires explosive acceleration. That's 80 speed, the equivalent of a 40 yard dash in the high 4.2s.

Carter Aldrete ss/3b Monterey (Calif.) HS
#456 on BA500:
Aldrete is the nephew of ex-big leaguer Mike Aldrete, while his father Rich starred at California and reached Triple-A. Aldrete has good bloodlines and a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound body. The Arizona State signee gave up basketball before high school and played football through his sophomore season before focusing on baseball and has body control and athletic ability, but his bat is a bit raw. He has shown some bat speed and raw power and has been a consistent defender as a prep at shortstop. He fits better at second or third base long-term.

Austin Bergner rhp Windermere (Fla.) Prep HS
#165 on BA500:
Bergner has been a prominent player on the national scene throughout his high school career, and twice played for USA Baseball's 18U team. He won two gold medals with the national team, winning the 2014 Pan American Championships and the 2015 World Cup. While Bergner's track record of success is long, he didn't quite reach those same heights this spring. His fastball velocity was down a tick, sitting more in the low 90s than the mid 90s. He throws both a curveball and a changeup. His curveball shows the depth to miss high school bats, and he's shown feel for his changeup at times, though the pitch needs refinement. Bergner is perceived to be a tough sign and turned 19 in May, which will make him a draft-eligible sophomore in two years if he upholds his commitment to North Carolina.
#200 on MLB list:
On the prospect radar for a while, Bergner had shown very good stuff on a big stage for two years, including strong performances on the summer showcase circuit and for Team USA in 2015. A combination of an unorthodox delivery, an inconsistent spring that included missing time at the end of the season and a strong commitment to North Carolina put a large dent in his Draft stock. Tall and projectable, there might be more to Bergner's fastball in the future. It typically sits in the low 90s, but he has touched the mid 90s in the past. He can combine it with a good breaking ball that has good, tight spin at times. He doesn't go to his changeup too often, but he does have one, and given his overall feel for pitching, he should be able to develop an effective offspeed pitch in time. Bergner stays around the strike zone, though some are concerned about his funky arm action and delivery, even if it has been effective for the right-hander in the past and adds deception. Bergner has a good arm, a feel for pitching, and some projectability. A team that feels comfortable with his delivery might still be willing to roll the dice, though the price tag to sign him way from becoming a Tar Heel might be too steep.

Carter Henry, rhp, Port Neches Groves High, Port Neches, Texas – Henry, a Houston signee, is a tall (6-foot-4) righthander with a fast arm. He sits 88-91 mph with his fastball and breaks off a sharp, short downer curveball.
