If the Red Sox decide to move Joe Kelly to the bullpen, what is a realistic expectation for him as far as effectiveness and role?
Since he’s been a starter, is his role likely that of a long man or multiple inning guy in the middle innings, or does his stuff make him a good candidate to thrive in the late innings? The Sox desperately need to add someone dominant to the 7th/8th inning mix, is it realistic to think Kelly could be the answer?

At this stage though it has to be worth a shot, and there have been plenty of live arms with command/control problems as starters that were dominant relievers (Daniel Bard in particular comes to mind). Given the way the pen has performed so far this series anyway I'd like to see them give Kelly a shot

It would be irresponsible to not try him out there at this point.
