Is the GameDay strike 3 looked different from Live TV for Hanley? I wonder why can't he swing at it with base loaded.

lol thought that thing was headed for the LF wall for a second. He was getting his long tossing in. Love the shot of Hanley attempting to fake out the runner that he was catching the ball.

I haven't been able to watch this one (maybe for the best), and I've said this before but it's very frustrating that with this offense the pitching literally just needs to not suck. Going down 5-0 in the first inning is just demoralizing for any team.

Broadcast just froze on Fios. Must be some new kind of mercy rule. Few innings to late Except that the Sox were one big hit from getting back in the game in the 5th. This game MIGHT not be over quite yet. Regardless, this abomination of starting pitching is starting to get very old. But I don't want to sell out the farm to try and fix it this year. There's too much mediocrity or worse on the pitching staff to fix. Now if Porcello (decent so far) and Price (meh to disconcertingly bad so far) pull it together and start leading the staff and the team back into the thick of the conversation regarding the best teams in baseball, then maybe do something. Otherwise, husband resources.

John Farrell, along with this organizations horrendous failure to develop MLB quality starting pitching and evaluate pitching generally, are ruining David Ortiz's final season. If 'Trader Dave' even thinks about gutting the farm further another "elite" reliever or "number 2 starter" I'm going to be a very sad camper. But where does all this start? I'm starting to get a miffed at the inconsistent and irresponsible ownership group, which has enabled much of the recent buffoonery, such as throwing money at Castillo reactionarily, the Bobby V/now John Farrell fiascos, treating Lester badly then handing Price 1m per start, wanting to compete now and pushing Cherington into 'mlb ready' pieces for Lackey, and handing the keys to the castle to DDo. Rant over.. All of this may be ruining the Sox's 2016 season, but it isn't ruining David Ortiz's final season. He's crushing the ball, on track to lead the majors in OBP and OPS and collect 100+ XBH. The only thing that might ruin David Ortiz's final season is David Ortiz's feet. Please get over this "the organization just has to make a run at a WS for Ortiz's last roundup" mentality. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. If the Sox don't make the playoffs this year, Ortiz retires with a terrific career and 3 WS rings. I don't think I cry too much for him Argentina.

And remember, Farrell's gonna sit Bogaerts in one of the next two games. At this point X needs to override that ...ill leave it at that . Xander's the one who actually asked for it.

Bryce Brentz, Marco Hernandez and David Ortiz cannot carry this team alone.

Hanley regularly takes called 3rd strikes right down the middle. Lot of guessing, lot of bad guessing.

I wonder who we can sell off? I live in the Chicago area and some here, including media guys, are ready to trade Schwarber for Chapman. I don't think Theo is that stupid, but I'd happily offer Kimbrel for Schwarber.
