So, how 'bout Drew "All-Star" Pomeranz? Ehhhh...by the time he figures out how to pitch in the AL, Espinoza will have figured out how to pitch in the NL.

I'm gonna hope Pomeranz is a reverse Peavy. Terrible in the regular season and great in the playoffs. If we make it that far.

Tfw you traded the next Pedro for the next Mike Maroth. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Pedro also called ruby de la rosa the next Pedro and we saw how that turned out.

Hitting approach with men on base seems really off - let Tim L off the hook last night, and tonight is simply silly.

And we all wanted Lackeys head his first year in Boston.

If Santiago could make it another inning, he could have a quality start.

Seems like when they are ahead, they use the whole field. Men on base, or playing from behind, lots of swinging for the fences or pulling. Xander hit into tough luck (been lots of that) for sure.

Argh. Again... strikes out guy, walk, then hook. Why the quick hook? If you have that little faith, don't send him to start the inning. Otherwise, let him pitch! His count was not that high, and even on an off day, I'd rather have Pomeranz than Kelly.

Joe Kelly on the other hand, is a hard-tossing nothing.

X with his best Johnny Damon impression
Why did Farrell take him out? If they are truly worried about his workload, then why bother trading for him during the season anyway?
And when will the Kelly experiment finally end?

I was hoping Pomeranz could've stayed on to save the pen. Guess there won't be any silver lining to this game.

If Pomeranz could have been acquired for nothing in the previous off-season, it's a good clue tthat you shouldn't trade a top 20 prospect for him.

I'm really starting to worry that the Lackey trade isn't going to work out.

But...but...Pomeranz is a steal. An absolute steal!!
At some point down the road, the Red Sox are really, really going to regret this trade.

Joe Kelly had a hell of a time throwing strikes anywhere but in the middle of the plate as a starter. What makes the front office think he'll suddenly acquire more skill as a reliever?
IMHO Lackey and Lester trades are still among the very worst of Ben Cherrington's work, equaled only, perhaps, by the Reddick trade. Send Kelly back to Pawtucket until he can command his FB and a breaking pitch around different parts of the zone. Until then he's just velo and walks, and most of the guys in MLB can deal with velo.

It's a question whether Porcello figured it out with the help of the coaches. That may be, but at some point the question needs to be asked if there is an organizational issue with why pitchers tend to stink when the don the great Sox uni. There probably is no way to really know, but how the hell does everyone seem to stink when they pitch for us. Price....Kimbrel....Pomeranz...Joe kelly....every friggin pitcher we sign gets turrible when they start pitching for us. WTF is going on?
