My first thought was "oh great, how are we getting screwed more now?" but that is not the case here.
Maybe they can give us back the right to sign IFAs this year as compensation.

Is mediocrity is a condition that needs to be disclosed?

The bigger question I have is - what injury or medical situation exactly wasn't disclosed? And is it adversely affecting a guy who is averaging 5 innings/start with a lot of walks and HR allowed since joining the Red Sox?
My knee-jerk reaction is too bad the Sox can't seek a remedy like having the trade rescinded, but that's too easy.

If Pomeranz is indeed pitching at less than 100%, the Sox absolutely should get compensated for this. Two years of a healthy Pomeranz is worth a lot less than two and a half, especially when that half is in the middle of a pennant race with three teams battling out for first.

Ive been saying this the whole time. I knew something ws fishy with Preller, And people were ridiculing and scoffing at my comments on him a little while ago. Looks like i was right.

Give us back Neo and Margot, and we'll send them Castillo and Ball...seems fair.

Why is there an investigation if there is no available remedy?

For the love of everything that is holy, please don't let this be the 'significant compensation' episode all over again.

Why wouldn't the Sox be seeking a remedy? Is this something decided by the team or the league?
Very bizarre.

Why is there an investigation if there is no available remedy? My guess is because the Padres are facing a penalty for doing this twice in one month.

So why would anyone ever trade with Preller ever again?

Even the Yankees executives are overrated. Padres hired him away from them.

Interesting, I wonder if kimbrel was hurt before they traded him? He looks better now after surgery than he did before. Was the knee thing there all the time? I hope not because dd would look kind of stupid for trading with a guy who deals damaged goods and hides it. And we give up a high level PITCHING prospect.

Gammons tweeted earlier today that Pomeranz is the 3rd instance of the Padres not disclosing injury information. Ries is another recent example and perhaps Kimbrell could be the 3rd one. Why wouldn't the Red Sox pursue compensation as they gave up a lot of top tier prospects to acquire former Padres' players?

Why the hell aren't they seeking a remedy... Because DD is awful at his job. He needs to push to get both trades reversed. I'm pretty sure the Padres knew Kimbrel was damaged goods. Same with Pomeranz.
