With the Hazen departure you should drop the Sox a resume.

With the Hazen departure you should drop the Sox a resume. "And I picked better guys than you in my mock drafts, mostly (attached), and I would've never drafted Bo Gentry 1-1 in "Trouble with the Curve." Also I read MoneyBall - (twice if you count seeing the movie. Which reminds me, what ever happened to Peter Brand? I can't find his name anywhere except in the movie...). And I'm a snappy dresser...

I've been defending Trey Ball for years, but he gave up a hit to Tim Tebow. My confidence is thoroughly shaken.
Fortunately for Ball, he plays on a team with Mauricio Dubon. 3 for 4 with two stolen bases. Yoan Moncada had his first hitless game. .333/.391/.524 through five games, but with nine strikeouts.

Ohh my Lord. He did this as a reliever too, the one position that I had hope for him. Trey Ball, you are dead to me. Wasn't this Tebow's first hit in the AFL too?

Tebow is now 2 for 10.
Also,I hadn't realized, but the Diamondbacks assigned Alejandro Basabe to the AFL. That seems VERY aggressive. It's aggressive to send a guy who spends a full season in High A there, never mind Low A.

Not to "well, actually" you, but Tebow's 2 for 20. Only seven Ks though. .100/.182/.100. Scottsdale has given him twice as many games and PAs as Tyler Wade, who is an actual baseball player and is supposedly in the AFL to learn the outfield. So that's weird.

Someone needs to do the world a favor and send Tebow to Africa with no personal belongings. Maybe he can pray to get his cellphone back in the jungle too.

I hope the Wade gets a cut of the money ESPN makes on the Tebow baseball documentary that will air in 2017 weekly in lieu of Monday Night Baseball.

Meanwhile, Tebow would be a very good to great NFL slot receiver and pose huge match-up problems for virtually any DB or safety in the league. Belichick offered him an opportunity to work into that position with the Pats but Tebow said, "I'm a quarterback." Which I guess really meant, "I'm a baseball player."

Wow, that's as bad as it gets. Is this enough for Hatfield to finally concede that he's a bust? His first bad outing in 4 appearances in the AFL. The organization likes how he is developing enough to send him out there. Control issues...yes. An admitted project as a pitcher from day one.

Moncada is out for a couple days with a thumb injury. He's expected to be back on Friday.
Jamie Callahan hasn't yet allowed a run in five outings, striking out five and walking one. I wouldn't think much of that, but he was better than I realized in the second half for Salem, too. He didn't give up any runs in 13 of his final 15 appearances, striking out 25 against only 9 walks in 23 2/3. He had a 9.7% walk rate during that stretch, down from 14.9% beforehand. And he only allowed one homer all season, though we saw how tough Salem played this year. Even though he's been around seemingly forever, he just turned 22 in August.

Yeah there was a little talk about him on this board in the second half in regards to his potential as a reliever. Would be nice to see him make it.

And Ball isn't done developing physically so who knows where he ends up Hopefully in the outfield, soon. So you think that, after not having played the outfield since he was in high school three years ago, he can suddenly transform himself? He's had problems in his development along the way, agreed. But he's had some good outings as well. You'll find him on the SeaDogs pitching staff come end of ST. Bet on it.

Nice to hear Callahan is finally showing improvement. I was very high on him when we drafted him.
