Really hope ERod brings his A game because heading into September with both he and Wright off would be bad.

I've been annoyed about our inability to dominate crap teams like I think we should. But I'm surprised to see we actually have an edge over the Jays in this area.
Red Sox against AL dregs: LAA, 4-3 Minn., 4-3 Oak., 3-0 TB, 9-7 Chi., 3-4 Total - 23-17
Jays against AL dregs. LAA, 1-2 Minn., 6-1 Oak., 3-3 TB, 6-7 Chi., 1-5 Total - 17-18
In inter-league, the RS have gone 6-1 against the Braves and D'backs, while the Jays have gone 5-2 against the D'backs and Padres, so we have a slight edge there, too.
Still, the RS have been frustrating in this regard because some of the losses have been of the horrific variety - like Hanley throwing away a DP ball to hand the Angels a walk off, for instance.
This series would be a great one to sweep. That might net us a game in the standings against the Jays, who are in TB.

Not surprising, though. It's probably not a bad idea to let YM take things in for a night before throwing him out there.

“@bradfo: Farrell still uncertain of Ziegler’s availability. ‘I wouldn’t rule it out, but I can’t say at this moment he’s a definite’”

Price has lived in the upper half of the zone almost exclusively, but it has worked so far (knock on wood)

Oh boy....Price finding too much of the plate - esp on an 0-2 count.
September - pennant race - on the road against a bad team. This is where we need our ace to be lights out.

It would be nice to see this offense crush the A's pitching.

Crush is the word for the Sox hitters this inning - all 5 batters.
Add: They are laying the wood to Oakland in the 6th also. This game may be over for all practical purposes if they keep it up. All you EST-ers can hit the sack.
Add2: Good night...

Sox hitters doing a good job keeping the train rolling. Can Mookie get to 100 RBI with this AB? Lots good going on with this offense right now.
ESPN how has playoff percentages listed in their standings info. Must be September!

Nice to see the offense taking it to the A's pitching. It would be nice if this started a steak.
Shaw's looking for more playing time.

Well this is fun. Wonder if Moncada gets an at-bat late in the game.
