Steve Lyons just asked "how many years is Moncada's deal". Way to do your homework Lyons....

That guy standing on second base is a few weeks older than me. Blows my mind sometimes.

Man, I almost feel bad for the A's.

Nice hitting Moncada... First hit. And I would note that, according to the pitch tracker I am looking at, Mengden pitched Moncada that AB about as tough as anyone he's pitched all night, both pitch mix and location-wise.

Man, I almost feel bad for the A's. The beard doesn't seem to work for A's pitchers

You simply cannot expect to win many games scoring 2.3 runs per game. Especially against a bad team. What? It's 2.3 runs per inning? PER INNING? That's OK, then.

Well, that was a fun inning. The only thing faster than Moncada running around the bases was the exit velocity on that Hanley HR ... surprised that ball didn't disappear in a puff of smoke.

It's probably all Porcello can manage just to keep from collapsing with laughter.

Some pitchers must really fight for win #20. Porcello needs to stay awake.

I don't get the A's. They have no farm either? Terrible team all around. Bean is overrated. I know he got bumped up. Thank god he never came here.

Moncada K's, but again, he got pitched tough. Everything Axford threw him was at the edges of the K zone.
Sometimes you don't look good in the box score because you missed relatively easy pitches. And sometimes it's that you happened to be the guy that wasn't getting the pitches to hit. Even Moncada's hit, according to my pitch tracker, was on a pitch at the knees near the inside corner.

Sandy Leon should become a 3.0 fWAR catcher within his next two games. That is, he'll reach 3.0 fWAR after just 57 games. Or 210 PAs. THe next catcher above him at 3.3 fWAR, JT Realmuto, generated that number in 115 games and 460 PAs, or just over twice as many games and PAs. Amazing.

That's two straight innings with no runs by the Red Sox. WTF? When is Farrell going to start doing something about this?
