Sox give up a combined three runs the last two games...and lose them both. Wow.

Classic Farrell. Pitch hits Sandy Leon rather than your best hitter David Ortiz....then doesn't leave Sandy Leon in the game. Leon's a SH, so he's covered whether LHP Hand stays in the game or not. Pap may well get his chance in the 9th.

Well, K rates may not mean as much as they used to, but there are still times where K's kill you. And the Sox have had that problem in spades this season getting the guys in from 3rd. This is the kind of thing you worry about when you have by far the best offense in baseball

Joe Kelly blowing smoke. Wish he had gotten another opportunity a few weeks ago. Sox might be in first place by 5 games.

Tough last couple of games. I hate seeing two good pitching performances go to waste.

At least Kelly looked good. Why did it take this long to bring him up?

Seriously, Go away Xander. You went up there afraid to swing the bat. Can you replace him so we don't see your posts during the GDT? There's another way you can avoid seeing his posts ...

I don't think people are overreacting. This team has lost way too many clunkers in the second half. Some of these performances are flummoxing.

So let's review.
A runner on 3rd with less than two outs in the 8th inning and you have the greatest clutch hitter in the history of the game in David Ortiz and Farrell would rather pinch hit Sandy Leon?
Yeap that just happened.

Yeap that just happened. They either walk Papi or pitch around him with 1st open. Then we'd have the go ahead run, in the person of a pinch-runner, on base with Xander and Betts coming up. That's still the right move.

Yeap that just happened. They either walk Papi or pitch around him with 1st open. Left on Left matchup in the 8th. Ortiz probably gets a at bat in the 8th. You don't walk the go ahead run on base. You're flat out wrong.

B..I..G.. game tomorrow. I can see Buch throwing either a no hitter or 5 ip 6 run game. Although he could throw a no-no through 9 and we could still lose 1-0.
