The last couple of games harkens back to early in the year when we were getting out to big leads early. Difference now is that pitching is 10x better.

Mookie is probably the most exciting player I've ever watched. His talent combined with baseball instincts are incredible

That was some pretty brutal BABIPing in that first inning.

Last (few) games, Price was working top of the zone, working low today?

I would have pinch hit Shaw for Hill here with the bases loaded. Yes, even in the 2nd inning.

I would have pinch hit Shaw for Hill here with the bases loaded. Yes, even in the 2nd inning. Exactly. It would be at least 1-2 more innings before the spot comes up again. Opportunities all over the bases. Who knows if that comes up again this game.

I love it when we're into the bullpen in the second inning of the first game of a series.

I would have pinch hit Shaw for Hill here with the bases loaded. Yes, even in the 2nd inning. Why? up 6-1. what if Shaw then injures himself? It isn't necessary. Think big picture.

I would have pinch hit Shaw for Hill here with the bases loaded. Yes, even in the 2nd inning. Me too. I actually assumed that was the reason he had him batting that high in the lineup -- that he had the platoon batting 6th.

you want MonKada or Holt taking at bats v righties? Am I missing something here? If Shaw were to get injured, sure, why not? Someone has to play. They both can play 3rd base, as can 2 other guys on the bench.
Should we not play Leon in case he gets injured? Xander? JBJ?

Those are different scenario's all together. You win the debate......congratulations. Add: just admit what's going on here. 1) people dislike Hill 2) people dislike Farrell.

The big picture is that there are at least 4 guys on the bench who can play 3B if Shaw got hurt. But it might have been a 10-1 game at that point. They probably could have held on with Hernandez, Holt, Marrero or Moncada playing 3B for the rest of the game.

I don't really have an opinion on Hill as a person, but as a baseball player he has -0.4 fWAR as a Red Sox and I don't like that. So what am I admitting here? That Hill can be pinch hit for and it not be for reasons of an irrational personal hatred?
