Interesting that Lin is listed as an OFer.

Ockimey and Dalbec on the same squad? That could be fun.

Does anyone know if the schedule and dates are out yet? We'll have them on the news page tonight or tomorrow. As for Lin, he's being groomed for a super utility role. Got 5 games in center this summer, so they're continuing that progression.

Lin as a superutility guy makes a lot of sense. He has a plus glove, speed, and plate discipline, but still can't hit for power. He's still only 22 and I'm pretty sure he's only 160 lbs or something so he still does have a chance to put on enough weight. If he can, he might have an MLB future.
About the rest of the roster, I'm surprised that Raudes, Glorius and Brakeman are all absent.
To be honest, the Sox look a little underwhelming at the lower levels and that won't improve with our IFA ban. The 2016 and 2017 draft classes really need to be hits.

I'm shocked they aren't as well, maybe raudes has just thrown to many innings this year but no reason Glorius and Brakeman aren't getting more work.

Won't the July 2nd signings help the lower minors? Especially if the plan is to blow through the roof of the cap?

His point was that the Red Sox are banned from making any next year and, therefore, that's exactly what they can't do.

Asking this honestly, and not in a dickish way - are you unaware with the penalties they were hit with this summer?

It seems he's aware. Didn't he correctly identify the ban as being lifted on 7/2/17? I think kman is saying that by going big on and after 7/2/17 (its rumored they're planning on blowing by the limits), that we might be able to restock the lower levels of the system. That said, those guys won't debut until 2018, and even then, they will be DSL players with significant development ahead of them. So basically, if you're of the opinion that the lower levels are barren now, that opinion should last at least a year or so....

Completely glossed over the date and missed the point. Got it and agree with ramireja.

The news article posted on site leaves off Ritzi Mendoza from BA's list.

Three of the 48 players invited to instrux played above low-A this year: Cosart, Lin and Buttrey.
I certainly understand Lin attending, given the position enhancement, but inviting Cosart and Buttrey seem strange, unless one or both of them are on standby to go to the AFL at some point. I'd keep an eye on that.

The news article posted on site leaves off Ritzi Mendoza from BA's list. That's because he wasn't on the roster we received. I'm looking into it.

I saw Chris discuss Ian's report on Sandoval. Chris says it's just rehab and there is no possibility that Sandoval will be activated. I wouldn't dispute that, but I am wondering if it's technically possible that Sandoval could be activated.

Wow, that first video of Pablo. Between the weight loss and the 3 takes, I wouldn't have recognized him.
